This episode made me cry. Hard. I thought it was the best one yet, and portrayed the effects WWII had on Germany, and really the world. I wasn't sure about this show at first and caught up on the first two eps. on demand. Watched last night's today on dvr.Collette's and Maggie's stories were touching but for different reasons. I was glad the show depicted a horrible time in history (Nazi Germany) through Collette. I am relieved this show isn't just a bunch of flight attendants flying around the world, hooking up with guys, and showing off the fashion of the times. Thankfully, this week, the issues were delved into and didn't dissapoint.

I was the same way! I didn't even WATCH until last week-I was bored and decided to watch the shows on Demand that I thought I wouldn't like. I was so-so about the Pilot episode. Then the 2nd was good enough (for me) that I watched the 3rd (Sunday 10/9). Glad I did, it's my new favorite. I love that they took a risk and showed the history of the time (they did this is previous eps. with the Cuban prisioners released to the US).
Give it a try again. Last night's episode was amazing. Collette was amazing.
As for people saying on blogs saying the characters hadn't "developed" yet. Um, it's 3 eps. in!!!!! I wouldnt want them to be all in-my-face after 3 hours!!!!!

Some people are saying it is a "rip off" of Mad Men. I think it is nothing like it-except the clothes/time (60s).
I feel Mad Men (watched the first season then couldn't take it anymore) degraded women. Not that the entire show was based on that, it could have been the times (I was obviously not alive then). I feel Pan Am shows women working, having fun, and going through life's ups/downs as well as shows the history of the time. I am not bashing MM but I started to feel like the show was all about who the men were sleeping with, how they treated women (poorply in most cases), and how women were stuck at home (mostly). It was like 1960s Entourage and I quit.
Love this show! I missed the 2nd episode but the one from Sunday was great.
There is something about the 60s that I am drawn to for some reason. Does anyone remember the show American Dreams? I thinks that's what it was called it was set during the same time frame. I was bummed when it got canceled.
I thought it was a great episode! I just wish that Maggie actually got to shake Kennedy's hand, though. I mean, I guess I can imagine that she did, but it seems like they just left it at the wave from afar.
I do! I was so sad, too. I used to watch it with my mom. The character Meg was actually supposed to be around the age that she was during that time and she and Brittany Snow have the same birthday. She used to joke that it was about her, haha.
Well, considering I wasn't even alive then, I guess I shouldn't comment on how realistic Pan Am is compared to MM. I Wait-I didn't.
I just like the tone of Pan Am as it isn't all about a bunch of guys sleeping with secrataries.
