Minneapolis/St. Paul Nesties
Dear Community,
Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.
If you have questions about this, please email help@theknot.com.
Thank you.
Note: This only affects The Nest's community members and will not affect members on The Bump or The Knot.
I am not from around here and was wondering if there are any ways to meet people. Maybe gatherings or discussion groups that allow outsiders?
Re: How to meet people...
I lived out of state for a year when doing a residency and didn't really know anyone in the city I was in. I found a group on Meetup.com that got together a few times a month for social gatherings.... bowling, dinner, brewery tour, hayride, etc. They have a variety of groups with different interests.
Otherwise, you could look for a local Jaycees chapter. I was fairly active in the St. Paul chapter a few years ago and met a bunch of people. The Jaycees are a volunteer organization that focuses on community service. But they too have frequent activities - social events, community service, fundraising, etc.
H and I are in the same boat. Well, I guess me. H grew up here so he still hangs out with his HS friends; I moved here and have a couple female friends, but scheduling makes hanging out difficult.
What things are you interested in? What part of Mpls do you live in (not stalker-ish, just wondering what things are near you, etc)
