Birth Control Question

What is your form of birth control?

Re: Birth Control Question

  • I was on the Depo shot, hated all the weight I was gaining. So, I switched to the pill. I'm on the generic YAZ.

  • Seasonique and love it! I know there are a lot of people that have had issues but knock on wood I have had no problems. No period headaches and no wacky rollercoaster when I get my period. I switched from Ocella (generic for something, but forget what) and this period 4 times a year thing is great! Not to mention my periods are barely there!

Me too.Smile No  huge compaints so far. I would like to someday think about getting an IUD, but my current gyno reccomended that I don't do it because my uterus is too small to hold it. I am seeing a new gyno in January, so I'll get another opinion. My only complaint about my current BC is that I don't have any periods. I know many women would find this a good thing, but I really don't. It's kind of nerve racking sometimes, ya know?

  • Condoms. I was on the pill for years and years, it was making me quite ill. I wanted an IUD, but the OB/GYN said no because we want to start TTC within a year or two.
  • I'm on the pill - specifically, Levora.  I skip placebo weeks so I only have a period every 3 months.

  • "Withdaw Method" (in quotes cause everyone knows it isn't really control). I already get migraines and have stomach issues so I'm too scared to go on any pills/shots/etc. H can't finish when we try using condoms... So although we think we're trying to be careful, we full understand a baby may be in our future sooner than we "plan".
  • I am on the nuva ring and I love it. No side effects and you can't even feel it.
  • Pill- Loestrin24. Doc gave it to me after I was experiencing nausea, headaches, etc. every month after my placebo pills. It's a lower dosage of hormones so it doesn't throw me such a curveball every month.
  • Vasectomy is my favorite method. Most women have no side effects from it.

  • I'm on BCP--Microgestin 1/20 which is the generic for Lo Estrin. It's a very low dose of hormones, and I've gotten on well with it so far (been about 4 months). I had been on TriNessa and it made me crazy! I hated it.

  • I have had an IUD for a year and a half.  I LOVE it!  I would never go back to pills that I forget to take anyway ever again!  I will have it pulled out when we are trying to have kids, and put back in when we are done.  the only side effect I have can be fixed with some tweezers...a little bit of extra facial hair.
  • I just got Mirena IUD put in and so far I love it.  Don't have to remember to take your pill everyday at the same time.  My OBGYN said it is what she used and loved it so I took her word for it.

I am on Ocella right now, it's generic for Mini-Yaz. I like it, keeps my hormones in check. I am thinking about taking something different than the pill. I would rather not have to think about taking it every day. Perhaps there is something better out there!

    God Bless You Amy Anniversary
