Moms of girls

Ok, fashion question.

If you pair a onesie (say one with ruffles or a tutu) with tights/leggings/something... which order do you put them on? Diaper, tights, onesie? Or diaper, onesie, tights?

Re: Moms of girls

  • If you want the ruffles seen, then diaper, tights, onsie. We only tried tights a couple times. Alex's legs are not tight-friendly.
  • Generally I treated onesie as a shirt (and she never wore one alone w/ tights - always a dress or jumper) so I did it: diaper, onesie tights
  • Pretty sure we did it the same as Naylon. It only applies for Christmas pics/party, so it's been awhile :)

  • I need to find a picture of the kind I mean... I'll be back!
  • You mean the onesie has ruffles? Then I would put it on her plain. If she was wearing a tutu it just went on top of everything

  • Ok, here ya go. So for something like this, would you only wear it alone? I am fashion stoooopid. Or maybe baby legs?

  • I would say plain or with baby legs- I think it would be easier to change the diapers without tights/leggings.

But if you really wanted tights or leggings, I say- diaper, tights, onesie.

    That's what I was thinking.

I'm having a hard time buying clothes for them because I don't know if they'll be here when it's almost Spring or in the dead of the Winter... and obviously, they could be itty bitty or "normal" sized. So, ahh! I bought those in size 2-4 months thinking they'd likely fit at the beginning of Summer. We'll see I guess. :)

  • If you lived in Louisiana, they could wear them year round. Like today is 80 degrees or something crazy. :)

Okay, with that...I'd either do baby legs or tights underneath the onesie.

  • I wouldn't put that on Jane w/ just tights - I think of it as a shirt.  I'd put her in leggings or knit pants and do diaper, onesie and pants.  The pants only over the 'panty" part of the onesie the ruffles will be on the outside of the pants.

Now if it was a ruffle butt like this:

I'd put it on top of everything - but I guess tights a onesie just isn't NMS and either are baby legs so Jane didn't own any like this.

  • Ok, thanks ladies!! I have so much to learn. ;) Boys = pants and a tee-shirt. That's about as confusing as it gets. lol
  • I do diaper, tights, then onesie so the onesie will hold the tights on, otherwise they tend to slide off.  Many skirts in the smaller sizes (under 2T) come with bottoms that are attached.

With that picture you posted, like Naylon, that looks like a shirt to me, not a dress so I'd also pair it with leggings/pants, not tights.
