Hi!  Wanted to Thank all of you who helped me plan this party for my daughters... here is a quick "Tarheels" style review of what worked and what didn't:

BTW - have posted pictures of myself and my daughters - but none of the other guests - out of respect for their privacy. :)

 What worked:

Pinata - filled it with glow sticks, temporary tatoos, bead necklaces, plastic bugs, Halloween pencils and of course... candy.

Guests loved it!  I got an inexpensive pumpkin shaped one from Party City with the pull strings.  Was one of the best parts of the evening.

Costumes - All the kids came dressed up and a lot of my adults guests.  Was a lot of fun and added to the festive nature of the event.  I had a picture taken of my girls in their costumes at JC Penney's and put a wallet size in the invitation to encourage that...  Invites were from Vista Print.  (Nothing to write home about).

 Menu -

Green Punch and Warm Apple Cider, Beer, Wine and Sodas.

Appetizers:

Antipasti, Swedish Meatballs, Shrimp Cocktail, Stuffed Mushrooms and Artichoke Dip

Dinner:

Lasagna and Salad and Bread

Dessert:

Store Bought Cake, Tea, Fruit and Coffee

Favors:

For adults bags filled with homemade Pumpkin Muffins.  (In addition to the Pinata stuff for kids)

Cake - I'm not an accomplished baker... so I ordered one from our grocery store and paid extra for the Cannoli Cream filling.  It turned out so well!  Was delicious and looked so pretty.  I'm thinking of writing their bakery dept. a Thank You note too.

 What didn't

I didn't have a punch bowl and used a giant Lobster Pot that I have for the green punch.  I think it didn't look as festive - even though I served it in clear cups and not many people drank it.  (I did though it tasted awesome).

I had lots of leftover cider too - even though it was a cool day and older kids went outside to play soccer.

That's it!  I wish all of you a very Happy Halloween!

~W.
