  • I chose the downtown option.. but anywhere in Seattle proper is pretty doable to me since I don't drive and take the bus.

  • I made a selection....but realistically I actually don't mind where it is at, so long as it has ample, free parking (or really really cheap)...as I mentioned in the other post.

  • I chose south of Seattle but if it's got free parking, I can really go any where. My little matrix gets great gas mileage.

Definitely agreed, though street parking isn't horrible, as long as there's plenty of it (and things are either mostly after 6pm or on a Sunday!).

  • My issue is that anywhere other than downtown requires me to bring the car which adds $30 to my trip because of the ferry. I really want to go but that kills it for me most of the time. Driving around really isn't feasible either because of the fact that that adds almost 4 hours of travel time.

  • I rarely drive (and we only have one car), so downtown proper (or Cap Hill, Belltown, etc.) is much easier.
  • I choose, Sorry I live to far away for any of these... but that being said if it was in the Renton area and if I was coming through for something else I would totally try to be there!!!

    This!

I chose North of Seattle since I live in South Everett

I work on the Eastside, and I grew up there, so anywhere on the Eastside would totally fine

And generally I can do any other location too, as long as I don't have to fight for a parking spot or spend $20 to park.

  • since everyone is posting their preferences, i'll post mine too!

i live and work north of seattle, and i'm okay with really any location, given that there's enough people and decent parking. i don't really want to drive for 45+mins to have a mini gtg (unless i really really reeeallly  like you haha). but if we start getting anywhere south of renton, that's pushing it and i think i'd opt out of that one.

  • The easiest locations for me would be North Seattle, Downtown Seattle, or Bellevue.

  • Renton/Tukwila is easiest for me, but next easiest is probably Bellevue. 3rd choices are tie between Seattle proper (DT or Ballard/Fremont/Wallingford) and Redmond with 4th choice being Northgate.

Really, I would probably just not be interested if it were more north than Northgate and less inclined when in expensive parking land of DT Seattle (unless carpooling and splitting parking fee with any Renton/Kent/Tukwila Nesties).

And speaking of our next GTG...we'll be close to settled in our house soon and we have a really great LARGE kitchen...so if anyone wanted to have a baking or cookie/cupcake decorating GTG, I offer up my house in Renton!

  • I'd be down for trying that Citrus place in south Lake Union - they have a good mix of food and $3 parking is totally doable. I just would rather have it be on a weekend day vs. weekday, especially if it will be Seattle.

Benefit of weekend day, is that if we do a Sunday, it's free parking in all downtown.

Both Lake Union, Cap Hill, and Belltown all seem to have decent parking available on Sundays.

My personal problem with Seattle parking is while I can parallel park, I HATE parallel parking!  That and the ridiculously expensive parking garages.  Thus why I tend to prefer the Eastside, but if there's a place with normal parking which is inexpensive, I would be open to it.

  • I think Citrus would be great if we want to do a restaurant/happy hour GTG, since we could go on Sunday and have all day happy hour and free parking.

All of us South nesties could carpool for that too....I know we have quite a few of us in the Kent/Renton/Tukwila area.
