A gross Would You Rather clicky

Have you ever had your stomach turn and you go from being perfectly fine to having to go #2 right now?   How about when you're driving?  This happened to me on the way home from taking Tman to school this morning.  I was on a residential type road in front of a school and there was a lot of traffic for the school so things were moving slowly.  I thought if I can't wait 'til I get home (which would have been less than five minutes away if the cars would just GO), do I soil myself or do I pull over and go #2 on the side of the road.  Luckily, I made it home Big Smile.  Sorry for the TMI.

TTC #2 for a million years: SA normal, CD 23 bloodwork shows nothing amiss, ovulation detected. Next step: ? maybe CD3 bloodwork to check eggs? All out of pocket, so limited IF tests/treatments.

Re: A gross Would You Rather clicky

  • Ugh, I hate those moments...  I had one of those last year, luckily I made it to a bathroom, but it was a close close call.

For the poll - I would rather pull to the side of the road to do my business.  Otherwise you have a huge clean-up to take care of in your pants, and in your car, and you might not be able to get the smell out of your car, ever.  If you go on the side of the road, then you can drive away afterwards and can pretend it never happened.

But that requires a conscious decision to stop and take a dump on the side of the road.  When I had the bathroom emergency I thought I could make it to a bathroom, and it was almost too late when I realized I might not actually make it.  A conscious decision to stop and go without a bathroom is a tough one to make when mentally you think you can make it, but then your body seems to be betraying you.

  • OH - but in your situation there are people all around you, people who will be watching and talking and laughing.

    OMG  that would suck.

Okay, in that situation I would probably go in my pants, tucking a coat or whatever underneath me to maybe protect the car.

I couldn't handle other people witnessing my bad situation.

  • Right, that is the dilemma, I think.  If you pull over, you'd be doing it in front of people.  There were no bushes or anything, I'd pretty much have just pooped on the shoulder of the road.

  • yum, this was painful to think about!! i think ultimately, i would pull over and re-compose myself before continuing. this usually helps control those urges.

however, i think you want us to pick one of the above!! so.....i chose soil myself. this is because:

i was less than 5 mins from home, and i was by myself. i could get home to change relatively soon. i wouldnt want to pull over in a residential neighborhood and drop trou!! of course, i wouldn't let it all out at once, but just enough for the pain to go away.

This. It's one thing if it were out on lonely stretch of road, then definitely go on the shoulder, but in residential that is very heavily trafficked at the time, the pants would have to be the loss. I usually have some empty plastic grocery bags in my car so I could tuck one under me to save the car seat.

same here, yet another reason to have those handy!

and great job with a horrible (in a good way) poll!

  • lol. this is hilarious.

i would probably do the same as jennlin, pull over, compose myself and hope for the best. probably try to think about something completely different..

i'm not sure i'd ever pull over and do my business on the side of the road, especially not my neighborhood.

  • I would rather soil myself than try. I don't think I would be able to handle it if I tried to hide and someone saw me.
