back around to Monday

Ick.

Weekend was great, slept on, got tipsy, made pumpkin cookies (ate all of them.  By myself...), saw "Drive," went running (success!), got the house CLEAN.  Why does it have to go so fast?  I want 3 day weekends implemented.  Barrie O, get working on that, please.

I found out on Friday that I need to go to LA this week for work.  Boo hiss.  While I am looking forward to the warmer weather and the sun, I am not looking forward to all the travel and lack of sleep.  And lack of home cooked meals.  And lack of G.  And lack of relaxing in sweats all the time.  And I will be there completely alone, I have no friends there, and WAH, whiner, party of one.

Needless to say, I have a LOT of work to do in the next two days before I leave!

Crikey.

 Happy Monday, y'all.

Re: back around to Monday

  • Very good (FAST) weekend.

Ice cream for dinner Friday night.  Slept in, Baby Q's 6-month / Christmas pics and Olive Garden on Saturday.  Did mountains of laundry and baked a Pumpkin Cheesecake.  Cleaned and finished laundry, then hit the Pumpkin Patch w/ the ILs on Sunday.  MIL got pissy b/c I wouldn't put my SIX MONTH OLD BABY in the lap of a FIVE YEAR OLD six feet in the air on top of the farking wagon for pictures.  Tough noogies, old lady.

And K found out that his ex-wife is preggers.  This caused much emotional upheaval b/c 1) EX told K she couldn't have kids and this was part of the catalyst for their divorce. and 2) MIL heard this from FIL (who ran into EX) and MIL is a terrible gossip so god only knows who all she had shared this juicy tidbit with.  I was not there when she told K but I can only imagine her glee at such dirty gossip.

Many good plans for next weekend.  Cannot wait til Friday.

  • Monday after vacay is LE SUCK!

Week off was ah-may-zing, with a whole lot of relaxin' and sleeping in (til 8 if that counts).  The alarm at 5:15 this morning was a huge buzzkill.  Or that it's day 2 of AF from hell.  Or the fact that I slept like shiz, cuz I just did NOT want to come in.  Don't get me wrong, I love my job and the people here, but it wouldn't hurt my feelings to not work again...

Addicted to my new iPhone.  First smartphone I've ever had and it's a little dangerous....

  • Please please mandatory three day weekend every weekend. PLEASE. I hate that we don't operate on a european work schedule with vacation, etc. Let the people who have no lives or friends or interests work 80 hours a week if they want, but let the rest of us breathe.

MFD's aunt got moved into hospice. I need to check miles today to see if we have enough to fly free or discounted when the time comes.

Shauni, got word that we will definitely be heading to Tahoe the last weekend in July. Wheeeeeeee.

    I had a great low-key weekend. I want more.

Fighting off the beginnings of a change of season cold. Stay strong body! Hold the line!

  • I did nothing on Sat and on Sun, H and I cleaned most of the house. I also made a dozen apple pies in jars and pumpkin cupcakes.

Everyone can just assume I'm dead today. Work is insane.

WE JUST FOUND OUT WE WILL BE THERE THE LAST WEEK IN JUNE!  Would have been fun to be out there at the same time!  You will enjoy it, July is the PERFECT time out there--80, sunny, 0 humidity, never a cloud in sight. Do yourself a favor and drive around the lake :)

  •  Shauni - Holy poop that would have been awesome to be there at the same time!! I will need your help, I am planning to do the fly into San Fran and tourist around, then head out of town and stay over and then drive to Tahoe. I may have questions!

Susie - Yikes on the dramz involved with K's ex being PG. I hope your MIL does not go to town on this one.

QoA - apple pies in jars? Explain.

Misty - I am sad for your painful first day back after a lovely vacation.

  • Booo Monday after my 4 day weekend. At least this is also a 3 day week. Of course Greg work all day like 14 hours on Thursday and Friday so I sit at home bored because everyone else is working. I deep cleaned the kitchen and living room over the weekend. I was going to do the bathroom but I figure I can save that fun task for this 4 day weekend.  Beside that a pretty quiet weekend.

  • Steph - Sorry to hear about MFD's aunt.

Brew - It took me a month to get into my iPhone (bought it when Baby Q was just 3 weeks old, so a little busy at the time).  When I finally had time to play, I didn't come up for air for a week.  It's still addictive b/c it's so damn convenient, but the novelty will wear off.  Mostly.

Very jealous of all these Tahoe vacations.

Must've been a deep clean theme roaming around the board.  I did the bathroom and hardwood floors yesterday.  DH even helped by vaccuuming.  Put that one down in the record book!

  • hey all!

Monday sucks.  I'm dead tired.  Was up from about 4-5:30ish.  really, body?!?!?

Saturday J was hunting in the morning, while i did some cleaning.  Then we went and grabbed lunch at a bar and watched the UW game.  After that we went to a pumpkin patch/apple orchard and got some yummies.  Came home and J proceeded to fall asleep around 530.........for the night!  Was supposed to be a nap, however, i couldn't get him to wake up.Yesterday we went out for breakfast and did some errands.  Came home and watched packers and then just chilled.  Very relaxing but i feel it was NOT productive.

However, Friday night we paid off baby furniture and it will be here is 7-12 days now.  yay!!!  Goal for next weekend is to rent a carpet shampoo machine thingy and clean the carpets, so the bedroom is all ready for the furniture to be set up.

In other news, I talked to my mom and she yet again left me feeling like crap.  Such as-  Mom: "saw a picture of you on FB.  How much weight did your dr. say you can gain?"  Me: "up to 15 lbs."  Mom:  "oh, so have you gained that already?"  me: "um, no, i've only gained 5 but thanks."  Thanks mom.  You're super supportive.  And then she proceeded to tell me how her and step-father think our registry is too big.  Um, there are 63 items on it and we have NOTHING for a baby, so yeah, there's gonna be a lot on there.  However, the suggested registry list they give us to base ours off of, has about 150 items.  So mom can go shove it.

I deep cleaned the entire house.  the bedrooms, the bathrooms, the kitchen!  gerren had the living room/dining room area and mudway.  He broke out the vaccuum and even sucked up the spider webs from our cathedral ceiling.  WIN.

I need to do that this weekend.  I was waiting for my breakfast to heat up this morning and notice some above the cabinets above our fridge.  stupid spiders.

  • I really, really need to deep clean the house.  We plan on moving next spring to be closer to work and lately I keep thinking how filthy things are where I can't really see them.  Blech.

Soooo Friday I wasn't feeling well and stayed home from work.  I promised Jeff I will stop by the clinic today and talk to them about all of the tummy issues I've been having.  Saturday we went to our usual wine tasting and bought 4 bottles Embarrassed we're such lushes!  After spending like 20 minutes trying to figure out which rose we'd had recently, I did some research and found an app that I can use to keep track!  It's pretty awesome, it even scans barcodes on bottles and lets you rate wines publicly or just make private notes, but it's pretty glitchy so I'm a little annoyed considering it's the only app I've ever paid for.  Although this oatmeal comic reminds me why it's absurd for me to biitch about paying $2.99 for something I actually use: http://theoatmeal.com/blog/apps

Today I'm going to the doctor, which I should have done months ago but I'm lazy and a weenie.  And maybe, I dunno, working.

  • My weekend was low key and I am sad it's over. Saturday I took the dog to obedience session then ran errands. I got back from that and I was dead tired and hungry. One of my cousins came over for dinner and made some really yummy spanish rice to go with our enchiladas. Yesterday I managed to get to Wal-mart way before the Sunday crowd was there, finished laundry and proceeded to be a couch potato for the rest of the day. DH and I also watched Dexter while eating Taco Soup, both were so good.

  • These were my weekend chores. I did most of them Friday night and Saturday. If the average American does this stuff every weekend, how can we not have three day weekends? It takes a day and a half to do this shiz, and I didn't even get everything done I needed to do. AND I have a husband who does things. What about single people? Serious campaigning for a three day weekend standard needs to start now.:

    -Picked up car from bodyshop

-Got half of Halloween costume at Halloween store and Michael's

    -Grocery shopping

-Attempted shoe purchase in DSW, could not pull trigger

-Complete reorganization and purge of MFD's office

-Changed sheets on our bed and one of the spare beds

-Purge travel size items, bags, and purses and reorganize

    -Reorganize one outdoor shed

-Dust top floor, living, dining, and basement

    -Clean kitchen

    -Clean both bathrooms

    -7 loads of laundry

    -dog walking every day

-made WW tortilla soup for the week

    -made two meals

    -clipped coupons .

  • Our weekend was pretty slow, but nice. I'm still sorta fighting this cold (that I think has transitioned to bronchitis) but it's only bad in the evening and morning for the most part.

I was crafty, making two tied edge baby blankets (one for H's cousin, one for our niece that was born in June) and two wine bottle lamps (they aren't quite done, I need to add vinyl to dress them up a bit). We had a friend come to stay the night Saturday night. H went hunting in the morning, wanted to go to the apple orchard/pumpkin patch, but then found out they are only open til 6. :( It was too late to go by then, and H was gone most of Sunday to a swap meet type thing. Hopefully we'll go this weekend, even though it's H's high school reunion.

I have to work for sure tmw, and I'm hoping to accomplish SOMETHING productive today... :)

  • Yay for new phone!  Finally out of BlackBerry purgatory!  And we're supposed to be able to post on TN without monkeying with java now.

Went to my sister's this weekend to visit and see nephew play pee wee football.  He was so excited, and proud to have his fans and cheering section.  Stopped by my friend's on the way as she had a ton of baby stuff for us, including pack 'n play, swing, bouncer, bumbo, etc.   Sweet!

  • Uh, hell no, Mary's mom.  I'll school her for you.  That's the thing about having a kid, everyone has a comment!

  • Nothing exciting to add.  Cleaned house, watched footbal, drank and got buzzed so I had to take a nap.

Some crazy sh!t happened in our town.  There were 24 arrests from last Wed thru Fri for drug, burglary, and firearm charges.  We just learned about it on Friday when there was a press conference and it was all over the news.  Rich and I were reading the story on our local newspaper's website.  We were reading the names of those arrested and my cousin's name was there!  We were like, WTF?!?!  We then looked at the mugshots of those arrested and her picture was there.  I don't know what the hell happened, and if she was in fact involved in illegal activities, or just happened to be involved with the wrong people.  It is a trip because she works, and has two kids, and seemed to be a law abiding citizen, so we were so shocked to read about it.  My dad had been trying to call his brother's house (her dad) and her, but no one answers.  They are probably avoiding everyone's calls.  I just needed to get this off my chest and didn't want to post anything about it on fb.

He was so cute!  When he'd trot off the field after a good play, he have both arms up, cheering.
