Possible relocation to North Andover area

Hi ladies,

We're looking into an opportunity that would have us relocating from Southern Calif to North Andover area.  What towns should we look into?  We plan to rent first to get to know the areas before buying.  We will have one child going into school next fall.  What is commute like?  Also, we are coming from a very diverse area and may take that for granted. My husband is Mexican and kids are therefore mixed.  Are there areas we should stay away from over other areas?

Re: Possible relocation to North Andover area

  • North Andover is a lovely town, although not very diverse.  Other than that I don't have much advice in that area (except to probably avoid Lawrence).  I live in a fantastic and diverse city adjacent to Boston (Somerville) but that'd be a bit of a commute from where you'd like to be.  I'll let the North Shore ladies chime in with more advice.  Welcome to the board!

Agreed...I would also check out Andover, as there may be just a bit more to do there than N. Andover. I currently live in Chelmsford, which is also a nice area. The cummutes can be hectic,  going into Boston on 93 during rush hour, is usually not fun. where abouts will you be commuting too? if outside the city, you should be fine.
