I have a gauge question. The pattern that I want to make calls for a yarn with a gauge of 5.5 sts to 1 inch on size 5 needles and the pattern is to be knit on size 5 and size 3 needles. I found a yarn I like, but it's 5.5 sts to 1 inch on size 6 needles. Do I simple use size 6 needles and size 4 needles for the pattern instetad of size 5 and size 3?

This and: knit a swatch (cast on 30 or so stitches and knit 30 or so rows = just a starting point) to see what your gauge is. You can go from there.
