Upcoming military balls - anyone get their dresses yet?
I think I'm going to go shopping this week but I need some inspiration.
Has anyone bought their dresses yet - or have an idea of what they're getting?
Pics would be super.

Re: Upcoming military balls - anyone get their dresses yet?
I know what you mean. The whole moving into a new apartment and trying to make it comfy and buy a bed thing is kind of expensive. I'm trying to wait until we get paid but IDK if that will work.
I found a cute store but I don't know if they're expensive or not, hopefully they'll have a nice sale rack. :P
I've been to three balls in the last year. (I don't really enjoy them.)
I found a couple dresses at nice consignment shops last year, and a friend of mine with mad sewing skills did the alterations for me for free (well, I bribed her with soft, skooshy sock yarn). I've worn those dresses to the three balls (at three different bases).
I might have to get a new dress before the next ball. I'll be checking out consignment shops again. Both of the dresses were purchased for less than $25 each. For something I'll wear once, basically, and only for a handful of hours at that, I'd rather not invest the crazy amount most ball dresses seem to cost. At least DH gets to wear the same uniform again and again...
I'm recycling one I got for my BFFs black tie wedding last year. Maroon, floor length, strapless, small brioche(sp).
Poof. Sorry.
I love your dress! So cute!
This is brioche
and it is delicious.
Heh. Duh, I knew that. It's definitely Monday.
Our ball is the 29th and I'm super excited! I like my dress but don't love it like I loved my dress from two years ago. I think mainly because it's red and of course red looks amazing next to dress blues, but so many other girls will be wearing red as well. But it's pretty and was on sale and I bought it in a smaller size than I thought I'd get since I've lost weight recently, which is always nice!
This is my dress:

I doubt we will have a ball, I really miss getting dressed up and going to a ball. Marine Corps balls are by far the best balls I have ever been to. But I did just find an amazing dress that I did but that was on super sale and I couldn't pass up,so I hope there is a nice holiday party or something
Love your dress!! I have only been to one ball, and with DH being at school I dont get to go to another one for awhile. Boo
It's Navy Blue satin that is very classy and elegant. I found it at Windsor in the local mall.
It was hard to find a long elegant dress that wasn't too flashy. Most are short homecoming dresses right now.
What's a sky ball?
It's a ball for disabled military vets. My boyfriend is disabled due to his wounds from battle and was medically retired from the USMC. I can't wait to go this Saturday with him! On Friday night Clint Black is holding a special VIP concert for military and their families too. It will be a great weekend!

I googled it yesterday and found that site. Have fun!
