Clicky Poll: Dinner

How often do you eat out for dinner?[Poll]

Re: Clicky Poll: Dinner

  • I thought I added a SS but I guess not.  Feel free to respond with your own SS.
  • At most, its 2 times a week (Friday and Saturday).  99% of the time, I cook Sun-Thurs.

This is us. Unless there's some kind of special event, visitors from OOT or a coupon (free stuff from Pei Wei) we rarely eat out during the week. And we usually try to limit the weekends to one night, usually Saturday.

  • We have really cut down on our eating out spending. Now we limit it to takout once a during the week and eating out on Saturday night and lunch after church.

Tyler limits us on going out as well b/c he has a hard time staying still for to long.

  • I put on avg 1-3 times a week, it's way too often.   I'm not much of a cook but I really need to find some simple (and I mean SIMPLE, like just a few steps) recipes and start putting weekly menus together so we stop eating out so much.

  • I haven't been meal planning lately & it's really affecting the wallet. I voted 3-5, it's about 4 days a week on average.
  • We rarely eat out.  We do get takeout every Friday night, so I think you could consider that a special snowflake...sometimes we'll go out, but not very often.

We go out to lunch usually once a weekend, too.  I was only counting going out to dinner for some reason, so I probably skewed the results :)  If you count takeout on Friday night and going out to lunch, it's at most 2 times a week.

  • 1 - 3 times per week.  It used to be once a week, tops.  But I hate our kitchen & don't want to be in there, so I am uninspired to cook.  Remodeling will save us $$$.

  • eating out, 1-2 times a month

we probably bring home takeout once or twice a week. dd's gymnastics class lets out late, so mondays is always a takeout night. usually once on the weekends as well.

  • We don't necessarily "go out" (b/c, let's face it - it's not very enjoyable when you are trying to wrangle a 2 y/o!), but we do end up picking stuff up from Chili's, Gringo's, Lenny's sandwiches, etc. and bringing it home (so that counts to me - although I feel like we at least save on the tip and drinks!).  I voted 3-5 times a week - which I know is probably a lot.  Most likely 1-2 times on the weekends (especially if we are OOT for something), and depending on what's going on during the week, it can be anywhere from 1-3 days.  DH does the cooking, as I get home late from work a lot - but he is pretty good about getting to the grocery store and cooking stuff at home.  We are terrible about not having a meal plan, though, and I know that is costing us a huge grocery bill - we just haven't made the time to sit down and actually plan it out.
  • 1-3 times... WAY too much for how much I spend weekly at the grocery store. :(

Friday nights and Saturday nights we almost always go out or have take-out... And we eat out after church on Sundays, for sure.  We keep saying we are going to stop eating out so much, but really... who wants to slave in the kitchen on a Saturday?

  • I voted 1-2 times a month but that's not completely accurate.  Aside from our recent weekend trip where we ate out A LOT, we are currently on week 3 of a "no dinners out on our dime" kick and I'm simultaneously trying to cut our grocery bill, so that's kind of a challenge.  BUT, we eat dinner w/ either DH's or my parents at least once a week.  It's not always "out" but I didn't have to buy it or cook it so it sort of counts....

My big boy is bounding towards 3! Hoping to add a sibling. image Hipster dog is not impressed.
  • hmmm, these results are interesting. reading the weekly WFD post and all the gals with kids, i thought the eating out would be a lot less.

Some weeks there is a meal or two in the meal plan that just doesn't happen at our house.  9 times out of 10 it's DH's night to cook and he suggests going out or take out instead.
