blindness (panicking..looking for resources)
hey guys...my mom had a 2nd retinal detachment of her eye....both eyes now have had to undergo surgeries for retinal detachment...today she said she doesn't think her right eye is going to heal (get her vision back) she had surgery 2 weeks back
she was asking about braille classes etc...help....im kinda trying to handle this emotionally...
if you have stories to share about someone you know who is blind and how they are going about day to day help!

Yikes I'm sorry to hear about that. My uncle had something happen in one of his eyes and is now blind in that eye not sure what it was.

T&P for your mom and hopefully blindness is just a temp thing because of the surgery!!
My granddad is blind. Well..he sees "shadows" but can't tell if it's me or Karl in front of him. But knows that someone is standing there. When it's around the house, he's actually pretty good. He does the laundry, waters the yard, etc...You just have to keep everything the same for them so they know where to look for things. And it helps to have a phone with really large numbers.
