Apple picking and pumpkin patching

Where do you take your kids?  We've done Klackle Orchards before which was great, but looking for somewhere a little closer.

Definitely want to get pumpkins and apples, any other rides/attractions for the little ones are def a bonus- TIA!

  • We were here yesterday: http://www.schwalliers.com/  They have everything you're looking for.

Willa 4.6.06 and Henry 10.18.08 Camp Sinki
  • check out the Kent Harvest Trails - they have a brochure with lots of locations and a checklist for what each offers.

Yes Yep, that was going to be my response. We have been there the last two years and it is going to be our family tradition. Free hayrides - granted they are short, but that works out perfect for our two little ones.  You don't feel like you are getting nickled and dimed while there. And they open early on Sat which works great for us.

We have decided that we will get pumpkins form Steffan Market on 13 mile.  http://www.steffensorchardmarket.com/index.php?option=com_frontpage&Itemid=1

We found the prices to be a little better for pumpkins, plus they have a large cut out pumpkin with a measuring stick so you can see how tall the kids are, so our plan is to go there every year for a picture.

Fruit Ride is nice too. We went there when Allison was one, but didn't go back the next year because they didn't open until noon and we like to go to places early since the kids wake up at 6:30 am Sad

We were there yesterday, as well!! We were there from 11-12:30. Loved the animals, hayride, donuts, cider, apples and pumpkin picking. I have a half peck of Northern Spy apples that need my attention.

Everyone there is so nice. I went to high school with one of the granddaughters/daughters and she still works there on Sundays to help out.

  • We've made Fruit Ridge Hayrides a tradition with our family. We've gone there for the last 4 years.

  • We like apple picking at Schowalliers the best, but the donuts and cider are WAY better at Robinettes IMO.

We also went to Gull Meadow Farms down near Kalamazoo (I think) and that was awesome for kids.  $6 for a wrist band got them unlimited "apple train" rides, pillow jump, hay bale maze, rubber duck races, and a slide.  We took a group of 4 toddlers and they had a blast!
