Just re-watched the entire series of Felicity
It took a looong time in between my 30 or so DVRed current shows... 
(Just to be safe: in case someone comes in who never saw this show but thinks they might someday... there are spoilers! 
)
I've always felt that the series should have ended after the episode where Felicity graduates and it ends with Ben following her to California 6 months later. It was such a great episode and just felt like the perfect ending. Re-watching the remaining 5 episodes made me kind of mad all over again! It was so weird with the time travel/dream stuff. (Now that time has passed I appreciate the "what if she'd chosen Noel" concept a little bit.... but it was still crazy. And killing Elena?!)
So I am watching the dvd bonus footage and the creators/producers are saying that the show was supposed to end after the graduation episode. They filmed it feeling like it was a solid ending only to be told by the network that they needed 5 more shows. I can't believe I never knew this. But it has totally made my night. Now I know when I watch it again to stop after episode 17 of the last season and pretend the rest never happened!
It was also interesting to watch the lost Elena scenes which explain why she's at Noel's wedding quite undead. lol

I totally loved this show when it was on t.v. I agree on when it should of ended. Her roommate was hilarious. I always wanted her to date Noah the guy she lost her virginity to. I also didn't have a problem with her when she cut her hairs. I didn't understand why people stopped watching it because of that.
One of my favorite episodes was the one where everyone was studying for mid terms I think and Felicity's roommate gave Noel somesort of drug or something and he started acting crazy looking for Felicity :oD
I've been watching this on netflix since it appeared a couple weeks ago. So freaking excited about it! I LOVED this show and still do.
Now, almost half a life time later, I realized the creator is the same guy that created Lost, so I totally get why the weirdo final episodes are... weird! I'm only in season two right now. I will keep the DVDs in my que since I want to watch the extras you mentioned above.
I agree with all of this! Noah was reeeally cute! Way cuter than the other "in between" guys she dated- the guy from the health clinic and the art teacher's son?
About the hair- it was so shocking that I HAD to keep watching to see how it would affect her life! lol They say the ratings went down after that but it was also the same time that the show switched to Sundays so many people think that may have played a part as well.

Yep, weird stuff on these shows but still generally pretty AWESOME. I loved Alias as well, same creators. (Also just realized that they were filming the last season of Felicity and the first season of Alias at the same time on the same set. And the idea for Alias came during a writer's meeting for Felicity where the creator said, "What if Felicity became a spy and couldn't tell Noel and Ben?

OMG ditto to this entire reply! That was one of my fav episodes too - where he is allergic to beets ans there is beet juice extract in the pills.. LOL
