BR: Another update post after Apt. today

So my main goal going into today's appointment was to make a plan, and we did, so that's great. Here is some general information first:

First 24/hr urine collection was 240, last one was 290. They have to be under 300. I'm now doing another one. My blood pressure is still mainly high, but it drops into normal range once in a blue moon. My labs are okay. I'm 2cm dilated (up from 1 last time) and 70% thinned (didn't have a % last time). I'm still having a lot of symptoms of pre-e, so I'm being watched closely for that also. MD put the baby on the monitor for about 40 minutes today (baby wasn't cooperating so we had to do it until she calmed down and stayed that way).

This is the plan as of now:

-I'm on bed rest until this baby is born. I'm allowed up to go to the bathroom/shower (short), eat, and go to MD appointments

- I go back to MD on Thursday for another check up and do a biophysical ultrasound for LO

- The plan is that this baby will be induced next Tuesday (10/25) at the latest. Sooner if necessary (will depend on my other 24 hour urine collection, blood pressures, etc.)

That's it for now (I think). My parents just arrived with dinner, so I'm out.

Thanks for any T&P's.

Re: BR: Another update post after Apt. today

  • Glad you were able to get a plan set, but boo to the urine collection going up. Hopefully it doesn't rise up anymore!

I hope things remain under (relative) control and you can keep bakin' that LO a little longer!

On a side note, I think it's totally crazy that we both might be induced on the same day. Best of luck to you!

  • Glad to hear that you have a plan, Emily! Take advantage of the rest now but so exciting to know that you will meeting your sweet girl very soon!
  • This is like my exact story with Isabella! I'm taking a guess you are having a girl! Good luck to you. I know how hard it is for bed rest being so strict, especially when everyone tells you to enjoy your rest now. I don't think you can understand that until your baby is here! Lol good luck with everything! I'll be sending you good vibes!

  • Sounds all too familiar.  I am glad you have a plan and I hope it makes the remaining time go as quickly and calmly as possible.

PS I got curious what my 24 hr urine collections were (they never gave me a number - just that I "failed" and they were 330 and then 460 - OMG!)

I have kidney disease (that they found during my pregnancy so they couldn't test or treat) you wouldn't believe the special treatment information once they read those numbers :P
  • Good luck with bed rest, I think I would get stir crazy.  And like the others said, yay for a plan.  Thinking of you!
