I am not sure I've ever mentioned this here before...
There is a non-profit that was started in Florida called High Fives for Hope (H54H). The organization was started to raise awareness and funds for colon cancer, testicular cancer, and leukemia. It was founded by my cousin, along with several others people he is close with, shortly after my mom found out that she had cancer.
Anyhow - they have begun doing events nationally, so I may come post on here if there are going to be events in areas close to any of you.
Beyond that, they also feature a spotlight survivor. Edge's post about her daughter possibly having cancer is what made me think of this (the latest spotlight survivor is a little girl who had leukemia). Whoever is the spotlight survivor, donations are collected to provide to them as a token of appreciation or to lighten their load, etc. If anyone has someone they'd like to suggest as a spotlight survivor, I'd be happy to submit their name.
