SO acronyms

And by SO, I mean significant other.

Reading JM's post about WG (workout girl) made me realize we have some pretty fun acronyms and nicknames for our SO's.

We have L, A, the Artist, the Vet, WG..what other ones are out there?

I've been calling mine the BF on here, but I call him FF on other boards (he's a firefighter). So mine is now the FF on this board too Wink

Re: SO acronyms

  • Mine are boring! I used to just call him Z. but then I was getting weirded out because Jaksmom is also dating a Z who is ALSO in the military--too funny!! So now I stick with BF (boyfriend, duh. Haha!)

  • Doubt the vet will stick around. Working on getting the DILF into the mix (teacher man w 2 DDs im going out with on Wed)! I read a lot of BFs on the board. I like using acronyms for occupations bc name acronyms are hard for me to remember!

  • Well, a few of us know that I call XH, SD, for Super Douche.  I don't even feel a need to refer to him as that anymore because it seemed like it stemmed from me feeling bitter and hateful and now I simply don't care.  But a nickname is a nickname and it's kind of stuck!

  • When we first started dating I referred to my now BF as "The Mechanic" but now I just refer to him as my bf lol

  • Haha!  Yeah I like FF for Fire Fighter!

I also like the acronym DILF.  I've called L that a few times Big Smile

  • Not sure if it is an acronym, but my BF's name on here is Mr. Kyk.

    Whar does DILF mean?

It's the male version of MILF.  Stands for "Mom/Dad I'd Like to Eff"

I found it weird too but I can't really go by anything else since he's an officer and active duty so anything else would be a security issue. Especially since my area is so small and there is only 1 base within 60 miles in each direction.

  • On the blended families board I call him SO (significant other) because BF = blended family and birth/bio father over there.

On my local I use his first name or initial.

On the national boards other than blended families I refer to him as BF or the dude, and his son as the little dude.
