Book on CD recommendations?
My commute is longggg, so I usually take books on CD out of the library to listen to on my drive.
Anyone have any good book on CD suggestions?!? Thanks
Re: Book on CD recommendations?
The book board gets this question a lot. You might want to look for some old posts on there. Or there are some suggestions in the book bio (it is linked in the green section at the top of the board)

Or you can look at my goodreads page. I have a long drive as well so I listen to about 50 audiobooks a year. I've got ratings and reviews for all of them.

My personal favorites on audio are:
Harry Potter Series
The Help
Stephanie Plum Series
Ditto amyb
I recently listened to the first book in the Outlander series, and it was excellent.
My new bff Gayle Forman!
“You can have your wishes, your plans, but at the end of the day, it's out of your control"
- Gayle Forman
"People talk about escapism as if it's a bad thing... Once you've escaped, once you come back, the world is not the same as when you left it. You come back to it with skills, weapons, knowledge you didn't have before. Then you are better equipped to deal with your current reality."
- Neil Gaiman
Married Bio
I used to do the same thing.
Here are some of the ones that I listened to:
The Shopaholic Series (I loved the first ones, and IMO, the person reading the book makes a big difference.)
Deep Dish by Mary Kay Andrews
No! I Don't Want to Join a Book Club (I forget who this is by, but the woman who reads the book does a fantastic job.)
My Horizontal Life by Chelsea Handler
Nature Girl by Carl Hiaasen
Lost and Found (another one I don't remember who wrote it, but this is one of my absolute favorite books on tape. I want to find it and buy it, and I'm also afraid to buy the book because I'm afraid that it won't measure up to the audiobook)
Ditto Harry Potter. If you can find the version read by Stephen Fry (only available in the UK), it is delightful, but the Jim Dale one is good too.
I love non-fiction, mostly history and politics, so I have listened to "All the President's Men", "Game Change" and am currently listening to "The Defining Moment" about FDR's first 100 days.
On the non-fiction front, I loved "Angels and Demons". It was a great audio book.
My favorite book on CD was "The Nanny Diaries" read by Julia Roberts. I thought I wouldn't like it, but it was a very good and moving book. The little boy Grayer just broke my heart.
Also John Krakeur's books "Into Thin Air" and "Into the Wild" will make you keep driving and listening even after you've reached your destination.
Izzy and Baby A ~ Adorable Punks
Agree about the John Krakeur books. They are so well done. I listened to Under the banner of heaven on a 6 hour drive and was so disappointed to get to my destination before it finished.
I listened to Bossypants recently on a long drive wit ha friend and we loved it. Tina Fey did a great job reading her book.
I also listen to books on tape driving and I liked:
The Help
Hunger Games
Any Dan Brown book but particulary Angels and Demons
Bossypants was great!
Any Chelsea Handler book!
