A couple of questions for those of you whom have experience with purchasing housing materials (we're finishing our basement):
1. Carpet? - Where did you purchase your carpet? Experience? Did they do the installation? Do you like it? We need carpet for the Family Room (high traffic, preferably stain resistant) if anyone has any suggestions.
2. French Doors - We are putting french doors leading into the Play Room/Computer Room from the family room. Any recommendations on where to purchase?
3. Laminate Flooring - I know this has been asked before, but anyone have experience with Lumber Liquidators? Or anyother rec's for flooring? We're putting Laminate in the playroom (2 Toddlers = No carpet!).
Thanks in advance for your help!!
Re: Housing Materials - Question
We put in Laminate floors earlier this year from Flooring America and I DO NOT suggest working with them. It was a huge mess and a terrible terrible experience.
I think that one of the Nesties husband works at Lumber Liquidators and I wish that we had used them. Next time we will.
I'm no help on the doors but we just purchased carpet through Gilcrest Jewitt and we are using a contractor named Aaron Waltman to do the install.. His number is 238-6315- we have used him two other times and he does a great job and is very reasonably priced!
We also are in the middle of doing laminate and got bids from 4 people around town. We have decided to use Eric Waltman (cousin to the carpet guy) because he seemed the most knowledgable and we bought our flooring through ProSource flooring. His number is 202-1389
We also like Louie's on Ingersoll and their prices were reasonable but their installers missed some crucial things in our bid like forgetting to point out that our bathroom pocket door would no longer work if we did the flooring the way they suggested so we lost our confidence in them..
