Tasty Tuesday

any yummy recipes?

I made a really yummy marinated baked pork chop lastnight with rice and broccoli... (I actually made the sauce 4 times the amt cause we put it over the rice and added extra on the pork chop once it's cooked)

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 6 pork chops, trimmed

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. In a small bowl, thoroughly blend soy sauce, vegetable oil, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, brown sugar, and ketchup.
  3. Place pork chops in a medium baking dish, and spread with 1/2 the sauce.
  4. Bake pork chops 30 minutes in the preheated oven. Turn, and spread with remaining sauce. Continue baking 30 minutes, or until internal temperature of the chops has reached 160 degrees F (70 degrees C).

Re: Tasty Tuesday

  • That sounds good, Cari!  We're having pork tonight, but I don't know what I'm going to do with it.  Probably add some mustard or thyme.

I just finished making a pasta salad for school lunches this week.  I was sick of sandwiches and needed an alternative, so I put a lot of veggies and veggie pasta together with balsamic vinegar and olive oil and some Italian seasoning.   Then I choose my protein the day of and add it on top of my already doled out portions.  I like turkey pepperoni or deli turkey with it, but am considering white beans and chicken as well.

  • That sounds good! I baked Nestle Tollhouse Chocolate Chip Cookies yesterday.

I'm getting all of my recipes together in the unpacking process so I'm going to have to try something new soon. :)

Such a good idea!! I'm getting bored of sandwich or salad for lunch too - do you bring anything else with it?

I think I'm going to make this creamy ranch chicken dish tonight. I haven't made it in a while. Normally it has little strips of bacon in it, but we don't have any so I won't add that - maybe I'll put in some pieces of ham steak instead. And we have a nice head of broccoli that I'll add instead of normally using peas. I think I've posted the recipe before, but basically it's bite size pieces of chicken and then some milk, flour and ranch seasoning packet for the sauce. Serve over pasta.

I also made a cranberry apple crumble the other day - soooo delicious and super easy.
