How often do you wear perfume?

I go through phases.  Sometimes I wear it every day and sometimes I just forget.  Also sometimes I feel like I shouldn't wear it to work because I don't want it to be overbearing, especially when I am on the T.  My H wears cologne every day, spraying it on is just part of his routine.  Random... I am just curious what others do.

Re: How often do you wear perfume?

  • Never

ETA:  Not that I have anything against perfume (unless someone is drowning in it), I'm just more low maintenance .  My daily make up routine is chapstick and mascara, lol.

  • Every time I leave the house. Not when I'm just home with DS though.

I used to work for Estee Lauder, so after all those years of being required to wear perfume every day,  I just can't stop.

  • Never. Most of them make me sneeze like whoa.
  • When I go out.

I don't like to wear it much because I was always afraid it will bother DS. Or he won't know who i am or something (irrational fear confession of the day)

I was very adamant when we interviewed nannies that she not wear noticeable perfume. I had a friend who would come over when DS was really young drenched in her nasty perfume and I'd bathe him every time she left.

But our nanny always smells like Herbal essence, so I appreciate that.

Is this the friend I'm thinking of?

    The one and only.

  • I only wear it when I'm going out with H or friends or something... if I even remember. Otherwise, never.

    No big surprise there!
  • I just unpacked it and wore it for 2 days straight. Then I forgot about it.

If it's something I remember, I'll spray a little on.

  • I only put it on when I go out. So for work weekdays yes. Sometimes on the weekends.

  • I wear something almost every time I leave the house. Not much though, usually just like 2 squirts so it's not overbearing or anything. I have a couple different scents - one real perfume and then a couple body sprays.

  • Never, except special occasions (anniversary, etc) when I actually remember. I'm actually allergic to some scents. Scented candles often give me headaches as do some locations (for example Bath&Body Cucumber Melon). I haven't noticed any problems with perfume, but I'm always hesitant.

We have a new French post-doc and I swear she fills her bath tub up each morning and splashes around it in. It's too bad because I actually do enjoy the scent. It is just so overpowering that when I go into a room she's in I smell her before I see her.

My little sister does this. I can always smell her coming.

She actually bought one of the perfumes that I used to wear (I have a lot) and DH told me "You can't wear that anymore, you'll stink like your sister." haha She smells good, she just WAY overdoes it.

I usually wear an EDT so it isn't as strong smelling as an EDP.

  • I put it on as part of my getting ready in the morning and to go out at night routine.   It all started many years ago with Debbie Gibson's Electric Youth perfume.
