s/o re: Giuliana's announcement

What did you think of her method of announcing her breast cancer?  Is there a way you would have liked her to do it differently?

At first I wasn't sure.. but aside from announcing it on E! News, I thought it worked.  I mean it would have been strange for her to be on E! News and all of a sudden make an announcement.  I'm sure she's not really in any emotional state to be making a lot of appearances (I assume she hasn't).

If she responds well to treatment, I wonder what would be a likely time frame for her returning to her show?

This is something I 100% can't judge or question.  It's such a personal issue and for a public person to have to deal with it and decide if and how to announce it...  they have to do it however it feels right for them.

  • I'm definitely not judging at all.. I actually really like Giuliana, my heart was already breaking for her with her IVF struggle and I was devastated to hear about the cancer.  I was first thinking it was odd to announce it on a news show, but then it made sense to me.
  • first - it is going to get out.  She has a pretty public life. At least this way, she is in charge.

second - it is great to raise awareness no matter how you do it.  If it makes one more person get a mammogram and find their own cancer early - that is great.

  • In a post-interview, she said she knew young girls looked up to her and watched her on TV so she wanted to use that as a platform to raise awareness/action.
