I got the flu shot on Sunday at work-- because I was basically forced to (it's either get the shot or wear a mask for the entire flu season). And I ALWAYS get some kind of reaction to the shot. The reaction usually lasts 4 days. I'm on day 2 at the moment. I have a red, itchy, sore spot on my upper arm that is the size of a softball. I have a headache. I'm stiff and sore in my joints. And my stomach is doing some funny things.
Now, I'm STARVING (okay, I am not at risk for dying, but I'm getting dizzy and nauseous, I'm so hungry) and waiting for MH to get back from babysitting for our nephew so we can eat. When is he coming home? Who the frig knows-- my SIL gets out of work at the latest at 6:30pm and it's a 30 minute ride home. It's 30 minutes past the time she should be home. Has she called? Of course not. MH's time (and my time) means nothing to her. Did she indicate that she had errands to run on the way home from work when she asked MH to watch her son? Nope!
I'm really starting to rethink the birthday gift I bought my SIL. Another 15 minutes and I might just eat it. I think most of it's real leather...

Re: Somebody is a CrankyPants
1/2 a PB sandwich to tide you over?
sorry your SIL is being like that
No bread in the house that isn't frozen.
I'm trying to be really good about not eating as much as usual. You know, I gotta get into baby-carrying shape-- or at least closer to it than I am at the moment.
I'm putting the water on to boil now. If it boils before MH gets home, then he's eating his pasta on his own when he eventually gets back. Or maybe I'll take it over to SIL's apartment so I can give him some dinner while I kick her in the shins.
This is why you always need to have a frozen pizza on hand!
DH took his car to the dealer tonight for his free scheduled oil change plus he needed an inspection, so I knew he'd be home late, but I didn't know how late. We normally eat dinner around 6. By 6:30, I scrapped my dinner plans and put the frozen pizza in the oven. DH got to eat his half when he got home at 7:15.
Cooking pasta and reheating sauce is just as easy as reheating a frozen pizza. But I don't like to eat processed foods when I don't have to-- trying to be healthier.
MH didn't get home until 8:20. Which is 1 minute before the pasta was done cooking. So we got to eat together. I still want to kick my SIL in the shins, though, for being inconsiderate to MH.
When we have our baby, this stuff isn't going to fly anymore... No way, no how!

You underestimate the power of my laziness!
Cooking pasta and sauce = heat water, boil pasta, drain, heat sauce, mix together. A minimum of 3 dirty dishes.
Frozen pizza = stick in toaster oven, set timer for 10 minutes. Zero dirty dishes.
