Rec your blender please

Hey everyone!  I love my green smoothies for breakfast, but our blender just died.  Womp womp.  I'm looking for something that blends pretty smoothly but won't die on me two months from now.  I usually make a smoothie 5-6 days out of the week, so I need something that can take every-day use.  I'm hoping to spend around $100, but I'll go a little higher for something of good quality.

So, MN, what's your blender of choice?

My base is a little different but the rest is the same. I like that it can do both. For what I use it for it works just fine.

My mom had a Kitchen Aid Blender and it worked even better. I loved it!

  • I have the kitchen aid blender that was $100 from BB&B. I really like it! It blends really well (I hate missed ice chunks!) and it also blends fast.

    Photo bomb, yeah!

That looks nice!  I love that the jar is glass; all of the plastic jars my parents had cracked, so I'm a bit wary of the plastic ones.  What do you use it for?

Sweetness!  I'll definitely look into that; I hate "chewing" my smoothie.  Ick.

Blender wise I use it to blend soups and such. Smoothies turn out well. I use the food processor more than the blender. Pesto, grating cheese and veggies.

The only problem I have with it is if I'm making corn chowder and my corn is not quite defrosted enough, and the milk freezes, it doesn't blend well. It does this when its too full too. I just have to poke a wooden spoon in there and move stuff around and then its fine.

That's no biggie.  I'm not opposed to poking a spoon in there; I'm mostly worried about the motor pooping out on me after a short amount of time like this last one did.  It lasted less than a year with consistent use, but it was a cheapie, so I guess I got what I paid for, eh?

That's the great thing about this one, if the motor is even remotely hot and you have stopped it it won't let you start it again until it has cooled off a bit. I love that I can't really over heat it that way.

    That's a great feature!

I think I have this one too. My mom bought it for me before we move to VA but I haven't used it yet. I actually have the magic bullet and I love it. You basically blend your smoothie in the cup you'll drink out of. It's pretty fabulous actually.

  • H uses our magic bullet everyday to make his smoothies and it works great.  It's really easy to make one serving in it and clean up is really quick and easy.

That's pretty cool. I've heard great things about the baby bullet a well, so I'll look into this one too!

I have this one.  I got it for free (well with green back stamps from the Piggly Wiggly).  I love it.  I also use the magic bullet.  It's great too.

My college roommate had the magic bullet. It worked really well!
