I have never rented a limo
not for my wedding or prom or anything - I've never seen the point. It just always seems like a PITA
Am I the only one? I've used a town car for work a few times, but that's it and I certainly didn't pay for it.
My SIL got some cheeseball pimped out stretch limo for a GNO a couple years ago, but otherwise I don't think I've ever been a limo for any reason.
Re: I have never rented a limo
I've only ridden in a limo three times - once to Joe Frazier's birthday party with my Dad when I was a kid; once for my sister's wedding; once for a fancy night out in Vegas with my then-boyfriend and BFF when I was 18.
We rented one for Prom because it was the thing to do. It was fun. For our wedding, there was no need. We rented a Towncar to get DH and I from the reception to the hotel (just as a splurge and because we didn't want to have to worry about driving). The limo company gave us a free upgrade to a real limo so it was cool but unnecessary.
I can see where its actually practical in some cases (large group, drinking involved, etc) but climbing into a limo in a dress is not super fun!

Everywhere I went when I was in NY was in a town car. Because that was how I rolled, yo'.
(Or actually because I didn't have a car of my own and basically only travelled to and from work - which was on my clients' dollar.)
Otherwise I think we've used a limo for the airport from time to time since it's often the cheapest way to go. And a prom or two. That's it. I don't get it either.

I guess I have technically contributed to pay to ride in a limo (for friends' b-rettes and for our wedding party) but I never did one for prom (we always did big vans or party buses!) and we didn't ride in one for our wedding- but we did have one for the BP to get to the church from the hotel.
DH really wanted a white limo to go from our wedding (ceremony and reception at one site) to the hotel. We decided that it wasn't worth the cost but I decided since it was something that he really wanted, I decided to get one as a surprise for him. Well, it didn't go well because I specified a white limo to complete his vision and of course a black limo showed up with a very rude driver. I didn't let it ruin my day but I wasn't happy and I let the owner know after the wedding that I was very unhappy and wanted a refund since they didn't fulfill the contract. Thankfully I did get my refund but they still get a horrible review from me for how the driver acted and that they didn't bother to communicate the changes the me. I wouldn't have paid for it if they only had a black limo to offer as that was a huge part of what he wanted.
Otherwise, that's the only time I've ridden in a limo.

I've been in a limo once, for our wedding. It was total waste of money.
We used to get them for prom/homecoming, my 21st bday/friends 21st bdays, bachelorette parties. I guess I have rented them a lot as a group and once or twice on my own.
If you need recs, I hear Zbest is a great company to use...

We've used a limo for prom, our wedding, 30th Birthday Party and had tons of fun. Totally worth getting a limo or bus when 20 of your friends want to drink, but definitely don't want to drink and drive.

I've been in a limo tons of times, never actually paid for one myself.
Well...that's not true. I have. But I paid $5.
There's a service in pittsburgh that you can call for a limo and it'll take you to the bars (like a taxi - but it's a limo) and it just costs $5 per person. I think it's a minimum of 5 people or something? We called it the drunk limo and used it whenever we wanted to go out to the bars that weren't within walking distance or easily accessible by bus. You had to wait a million years to get a ride back from the bars if you stayed till close since they had lots of customers, but hey...$5 and no drunk driving? worth it.
My Goodness...another food blog. Featuring: Macarons from a old post with a photo taken by my mom for a break from my crappy food photos!
I've done it twice... once for prom and once for our wedding so the BP could get from my house to the reception.
I don't know about you ladies but I think it's awesome to rent a limo for errands. It makes grocery shopping so much fun! It's super klassy to roll up to Giant in a long white limo
Oh and I often take a limo when I'm hopping on a cruise ship.
