This going to be a long day for me so I figured I would get a jump on this post.
Last night ended up being pretty good. I managed to run 5 miles on the treadmill with no 'twinges' so that made me happy.
Today I have to work 8-4 but then I have a committee meeting until 6:30. After I get home, a friend is coming over to make cookies. I need her advice on a work situation and she is the most wise person I know.
I slept really well last night with the bed all to myself! I sound like a horrible wife
This morning I figured I would make some quinoa while I was getting ready because I needed some for lunch. Got everything ready, turn the burner on and I'm thinking to myself, this smells too 'nutty'. Whatever, get in the shower. Turns out I poured out steel cut oats and not quinoa. Fail. And now I have no quinoa for lunch =( I hope this isn't a sign of how my day is going to go.
Have a great day ladies!
Re: Good Morning!
Good Morning,
I'm just finishing up getting ready for work. Tonight we have a goodbye party for my big sister. She's moving to Uganda tomorrow for at least 2yrs for her new job.
Yesterday I essentially got a new job at my school. Instead of supporting reading, now I'm essentially teaching high schoolers how to read. My kids know how to look like they're reading, but don't actually know or understand what they're reading. It's a long story.
I have a meeting with my administrator this morning to talk about my observation from like 2 weeks ago. I'm guessing it wasn't terrible since he didn't march me in there right away.
Being a working mom sucks.
Rxbeth- For sure not a bad wife. I am the same way. When DH's shift works night a good many of the other wives post about how they can't sleep and they are ready for the shift of nights to end. I LOVE it. He gets to be home and help me with the kids AND I get the bed all to myself. I sleep much better alone.
M0-Good luck to your sister. Hope she gets to come back and visit some. Totally agree being a working mom does suck!
Today will be a long day for me as well. I am working 6am-5pm today. I took off 2 hours on monday for my appt. Jordan is having a small awards thing at his school on Friday for getting student of the month and making honor roll this 9 weeks and then his class is going to walk to the fire station for a "field trip." So all in all I will probably miss a half a day on friday. I would much rather make my time up now rather than this weekend.
Last night was good. I made spaghetti which I always like its easy, hot, and good. We had a cool snap come thru yesterday so I am loving the fall temps today. I hope it is this cool on saturday for the 5k. I did find out DH has to work saturay night so I am kinda bummed he wil not be attending the local fall festival with me and the kids, but o well we will have a good time.
Morning!
beth, it's good to hear that you didn't have any twinges and that your run went well! you're a rock star.
mo, I can't believe students could get to that level not being able to read, I hope you can help them.
Yesterday was interesting. Since we had to head up to that visitation last night we left work a bit early. Dinner was ready when I got home (oh how I love the crockpot) and turned out realllly well. No shoe leather!
The visitation was ok. We didn't stay too long, but I'm sure my coworker appreciated us being there.
Tonight, White Chicken Chili in the crock pot, a workout and sleeeeeep.
We'll just not tell H about this little fact, m'kay?

Morning ladies.
MO- I have to agree...being a working mom does suck! Zach wasn't even awake when I left for work this morning. =(
Lastnight I didn't even get home until a little after 6:00, my boys go to bed at 7:00, so I felt guily only having about 1/2 with them before they went to bed. It sucked because they are cranky by that time too. So I am very much looking forward to getting out of here today to go home and have some major play time with them.
Today is a typical day, work, snuggle time, baths, and Survivor.
Have a great day ladies.
Morning! I'm headed to Cleveland today, so I won't be around again until Saturday. Everybody enjoy the rest of the week.

Happy hump day! I'm just glad I'm passed the halfway mark of the week - it's been really busy so far, and should be so for the next few days. At least that should help it go faster.
I just went down to grab lunch and some halloween treats for a candy exchange I'm doing - for the record, it's NOT a good idea to buy candy BEFORE eating lunch. It's entirely possible I went a little overboard.

Good morning, ladies.
Yes, being a working Mom sucks. I am extraordinarily, irrationally envious of SAHMs. I never had the opportunity, and I'm bitter about it.
Busy time at work - probably 6 to 6 today, maybe later. And I want to make cookies to send to my daughter at college. I like to surprise her now and then.
Have a great day, everyone!
Have a good trip Reba!
kaesha, I linked one of your recipes on Leigh Peele's forum yesterday, so if you get a bunch of traffic from bbeforums, that's where it's from!
We'll just not tell H about this little fact, m'kay?
Lespaul-that is so sweet of you! I l'm sure your daughter will love getting cookies.
Raynes- You should really share some of those crockpot recipes. I love getting home to the smell of some good food in the crockpot.
Last night I got home so tired from my classes that I did absolutely no homework. Today I will pay for it; I'm gonna have to play catch up. I just hope I survive the week until Friday.
Les* That is awesome you send her cookies. I used to love getting random stuff at school from people. I commuted, so it was even more weird when it happened, but definitely a welcome surprise.
I also agree it sucks to be a working mom, but I also couldn't do the SAHM thing. It's just not in me. I would definitely love doing a part-time SAHM thing. Today I'm taking a 1/2 day so our phones can get switched over at home, which will be nice. It's super rainy and gross today, so even better to be at home and snuggle in. I'm just hoping Jackson is in a good mood and not super fussy the whole time.
Tonight I'll be watching Season 5 of Dexter with the hubs. So far it doesn't seem as exciting as the other seasons, but I hear it gets better.
Good morning! I only got a little bit of housework done last night. Once my butt hit the couch there was no turning back. Luckily our company won't be in town until Friday so I still have 2 more days to finish up everything.
Tonight I have chicken and dumplings waiting in the crock pot for me. Thanks raynes for inspiring me to bust out the crock pot again. I'm really looking forward to walking into the house tonight with it smelling like awesomeness.
Here they are! The Pulled Pork was just awesome, the White Chicken Chili is in now is supposed to be good, and the Stroganoff comes from a giant document of slow cooker recipes I have, so other than thinking about what the ingredients should taste like together, I have no feedback.

Beef Stroganoff -
Beef Stroganoff (9 Points)
1 1/2 lb. beef, trimmed -- * see note
1 c chopped onion
8 oz. sliced mushrooms
1 tbs. Dijon mustard
2 tsp. dried parsley
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. dill -- dried
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 clove garlic -- minced
1/2 c all-purpose flour -- * see note
1 can fat-free beef broth -- * see note
3/4 c lowfat sour cream
6 c egg noodles, Barilla -- cooked, * see note
Trim fat from steak. Wrap steak in heavy-duty plastic wrap; freeze 30 minutes. Unwrap steak; cut steak diagonally across grain into 1/8-inch thick slices. Place steak, onion, and next 7 ingredients in a 3-quart electric slow cooker. Combine flour and broth in a bowl; stir with a whisk until blended.
Add broth mixture to cooker; stir well. Cover; cook on low-heat setting for 8 hours or until tender. Turn slow cooker off; remove lid. Let stand 10 minutes. Stir in sour cream. Serve stroganoff over noodles.
Notes: Had 1 1/2 lbs. of extra lean stew beef in cubes and used it just as it was). To make up for the extra beef I increased the broth to use the whole can (was 1 cup), and the flour (was 1/3 cup).
And, because the extra beef gave me additional servings, I increased the noodle amount to give me the right nutritional analysis.

I keep on telling Josh we need a crockpot. I have to show him these recipes--that should help convince him!
Good morning, everyone! Very quiet morning so far over here--just did a coffee run and then Josh called to apologize to me for being short with me this morning. I must've been half asleep when he did that because I had no idea what he was talking about. But it was cute he was concerned.
Tonight will be a quick clean up of the apartment since my sister's flying in tomorrow to visit for the weekend.
Have a great one, all.
Good morning! Last night J and I went over to his friends ranch for dinner and some target shooting. I had a ton of fun and I'm getting to be a pretty good shot!
Tonight should be more low key, I'm making green chili chicken burgers and hopefully catching up on a few TV shows.
Good morning ladies. Last night was rather busy trying to get Olivia ready to get her pictures taken while also making dinner and cleaning up. It was worth it though and I think the pictures turned out well.
Tonight I have to go shopping for a few more things for the party on Saturday. I'm also getting a hair cut and then just resting and some light cleaning. Have a great day ladies.
It has been a fairly easy morning. This afternoon is going to be a little more hectic. I am so tired, and ended up sleeping in luckily I still made it to work on time.
Tomorrow DH and I are going to do some pumpkin carving. I love getting all festive for Halloween. Anyone have Halloween plans yet? Anyone have a costume ready? I know there are lots of ladies with babies on the board...any costumes for the little ones? are you still dressing up?
I am getting all teary eyed watching some "Baby Story" on TLC and that darned Pampers commercial. I am so looking forward to when we can bring a little one home.
Ah! That's what it was from! I was wondering. Thank you.
I totally need to take a better picture of that recipe.

Evening!
So, I am pretty sure my cough has turned into bronchitis, so I am off tomorrow to go to the doctor. I brought home about 8 hours of work with me, so hopefully I can make some headway before and after and get in a run also.
Tonight we are laying low and going out for a quick dinner, then early to bed for me!
