I've decided that I am not going to actively wean. I went to breast feeding group tonight for some support and to ask questions and I feel so confident in my decision. I'm just going to let him lead me. I'm still quitting the pump sometime in November. And we will still nurse morning, evening, and all through the night during the week and nurse all weekend.
I'm just really excited and relieved...I've been so nervous about this transition.

This exactly! Abby went on a nursing strike at 5 months or so and we never really made that long term bonding experience. Abe is very lucky to have you for a mommy :-)
Having a good, educated, support group has been really helpful. And being committed...even if it is really tough. I love my lactation consultant!!
That's great that you feel great about your decision. It's such a personal decision, and it may change and evolve as you go along - the important thing is that it feels right for you!
Angel, in addition to the lactation group, you could always check out your local La Leche League. They can be a great and supportive resource for you both individually and in monthly groups. I went to a few meetings when I was facing challenging breastfeeding issues, and found them to be very supportive and helpful. This board is also a wealth of BF'ing knowledge, so definitely seek support here when you need it!
YES! I leaned on MA&CB a ton for breast feeding help and now I feel like I'm an "expert" too.
This 110%! Any time that I have felt frustrated or had a concern about breastfeeding, I've come on here and found great support through hearing about other Mom's experiences or looking back on previous discussions. I would also encourage you to speak with a couple of different lactation consultants at your hospital. I didn't have a great connection with the LC that was on duty when I had Will (she was very nice and gentle, we just didn't have any chemistry), but when I went back in for a secondary consult and a concern about thrush, I met with another consultant that I LOVED and I still call her with concerns.
