Buyers mortgage commitment date came and went
In the (long) process of selling, and yesterday was the mortgage commitment date. The buyers were pre-approved at the time of the offer about a month ago.My realtor had followed up last week with buyer's agent to ensure things were on track and we were told we'd have it on Monday (a day early.)
When I emailed my realtor last night to ask if they got it, she said not to worry since "they probably have it" and will be sending it shortly.
What? Are deadlines not deadlines or am I overthinking this? I recall as a buyer being super anal about getting the letter in on time so maybe it's just me.

The entire house buying experience is so frustrating on both sides! Just because you were super anal, doesn't mean that all of the other people that your buyers are relying on are giving it the same level of high priority that you or your buyers are. I'm saying that as a VERY frustrated buyer who is getting the run around from their loan officer. It seems that everyone in the industry is super relaxed because they deal with stuff like this all the time and forget that 1) they are in a service industry and 2) their clients don't do this every day and their entire lifestyle and financial future is in the balance.

Our contract states that we have to have our loan committment by a certain date but the sellers have to request it if they want a copy which I thought was super weird. Why require we get it but only give it to them if requested? We have just kept them in the loop and they didn't care about getting a copy.
Buying and selling is just soooo stressful. Thankfully we don't have to do it all the time!
