Re: Whole Foods
I'm waiting at least a month to go to the OKC one to try to avoid crowds, but in general having shopped there a lot, I'm a big fan! I love the meat/seafood counter, the cheese selection (though I think Forward Foods might have them beat!), the butter selection, the egg section, and the produce. There are lots of yummy frozen and prepared things, but they're generally more than I want to spend.
I'm excited that Edmond is getting a Sunflower Market!
Still, I'm holding out hope that we eventually get a Trader Joes!
I'm so glad you mentioned the salad bar! I was wanting a salad last night at work but wasn't sure how it was. Good to know!
Their pizza is pretty awesome too!
I hate that law! World Market is one of my favorite stores but same deal. They sell wine so they can't come to Oklahoma.
I know! I wish they would lift it so a Central Market would be able to come to OKC. I don't know if they would try to go out of Texas, but I really wish they would.
Have you guys seen the picketers at the Sunflower Market on May? From what I can tell, they're upset that SM doesn't sell Oklahoma products. I haven't been in, and I haven't really researched it; just wondering if any of you have heard the full story.
I'm SO SAD that I no longer work a few blocks from the new Whole Foods.
Downtown sucks. I still live close to WF, though, so I'll be checking it out soon.
Hold on here - a big share of Whole Food's profits come from the sale of alcohol - wine and beer are sold in all WF other than the one's in OK (there has to be a separate building). There ARE ways to get around the "blue laws" but Trader Joe's refuses to do that. So, not a blue law issue, its a Trader Joe's issue. ((As an FYI, I also think the blue laws are totally stupid))
I went to WF on Saturday. OMG it was nuts. Of course it was amazing, but I've been in many a WF store, so I knew what to expect.
I do not plan on going again for a month or so, in the hopes the crowds will die down.
