Do I need 6' of chalkboard paper?

So one of my blogs yesterday was talking about chalkboard labels and I saw these on an etsy site she was promoting.  They are $3.50 for 10 and I can get 10% off with a promo code.

Set of 10 Chalkboard Tag Sticker Labels, Antiqued Square 2"

But then I'm all "I have a cricut, I have a big kick, what does this chalkboard paper cost?"  And I found a roll of chalkboard contact paper on amazon for $6.88 with shipping.

So I'm wondering, support an etsy seller and buy labels or buy 6' of contact paper and be making labels for the next 10 years?

  • If you decide to do the paper.... let me know! I'd chip in for it and see if you could make me labels too!!!

  • I would totally buy the 6' roll.  You never know when you'll need replace them, or what other projects you'll need it for.  You'll have it so if you want to use it when making a gift for someone.  heck you could cut out pieces to use as gift tags.
  • What are you putting them on? Couldn't you use the chalkboard paint?

I wanted to put them on some canisters in the kitchen.  I'm not a huge fan of the paint on things b/c of the mess issue with taping it all off.

This is what I was thinking, too.

Then I'd say get the roll for the reasons Teresa stated.
