Best Place to Buy Fabric

I just bought sewing machine yesterday and I'm ready to get started on some projects! Where in the DSM area has the best price/selection of fabric?

Thanks!

Re: Best Place to Buy Fabric

  • I go to Jo-Anns and Hancock fabrics depending on what coupons I have. Both of their websites have email & mailing lists you can get on. JoAnn also has an adroid phone app that allows you to get extra coupons too. The fabric works for my needs- I don't make fancy things!! If you are going to be making really nice quilts or things like that you may want a specialty fabric store.

Ditto! I get so many Joann's coupons, I'm pretty sure I've never bought anything at regular price!

For designer fabrics (Amy Butler, Michael Miller, etc) check out fabric.com or Etsy.

    Happy Sewing!!

  • Great! Thanks for the ideas. I'm excited to get sewing, but really have no idea what I'm doing so it could be interesting!

  • If you are interested in using patterns to sew watch the ads for Jo-Anns & Hancock fabrics. If patterns aren't on sale this weekend for $1.00 they probably will be next weekend- much better than paying $10-$15 each like they are marked!
