coat for my kiddo

So surprisingly enough amongst the bazillion things I bought at the sale I forgot to buy L a winter coat. I did buy her a snow suit for playing in the snow and I will use it for super cold walks since it's a one piece.

So here is my dilemma, what should I buy? I know coats and car seats are a no-no so what do you do? We go for walks regularly so she will need one for that and just running into the grocery store etc, since I'm not hauling in her car seat anymore with the cover on it. Just not sure how heavy of one to get or style, etc. I'm also not concerned that is have a hat since I managed to buy a bunch of those at the sale. Tips? Advice?

Re: coat for my kiddo

  • We have a fleece jacket for in the car and then bring a heavier coat with us if need be and they wear it backwards in their seat. Most of the time we run from car to house or whatever so big coat does not even go on.

  • Last year Blythe wore a Patagonia fleece and it worked really well - if we needed something much heavier we brought it along in the car, but usually that fleece plus a hat and mittens (and a blanket when entering/exiting the car if it was super cold) did the trick.

Fleece jacket or like a one piece zip up?

Someone bought us a baby Gap wool zip up one piece, it would be perfect except it's 6-12 and it's already too small.  I haven't been able to find anything like it.

  • We do fleece in the car seats (like Columbia jackets) and then heavy coats outside of the car. DD has a 3-n-1 coat from Target that works awesome for this as well.

  • Owen has a 3 in 1 coat from Gap that i'm hoping still fits him. He pretty much just wore the lining all last year unless he went out to play, then he wore both. I bought a Columbia fleece for J at your sale and it's working perfectly :) She has a gap jacket that will go over it when she needs it, almost like they were meant to go together :) I just posted another car seat no no video on my FB.
