black tie "top?" help dress me
i am going to a black tie breast cancer event at end of the month. i don't want to just wear a black dress. i have a pair of silver trousers (aka fancy pants ha!) that would actually be great to wear but now want to find a pretty top to match....in the pink family. of course pink is not in season right now so this is not going to be an easy find.....and of course i am not looking to spend a fortune either.
i have the standby red dress (i pray it fits) i can wear but curious if there is an "evening wear" store i am just blanking on checking.

I'd also go to the mall and check Cache and White House Black Market- pink seems to be one of their highlight colors right now. They have way more separates in store than they do on their sites.
Stand up for something you believe in.
I have a pink velvet spaghetti strap top I got from j.crew for the holidays. It is perfect for holiday parties. I think last year they had a lace tank top that was dressy too. I think all that kind of stuff should be arriving in stores soon. Ann Taylor seems to have stuff like that too and they have 40% off right now.

Another idea... you could check out david's bridal to see if there's a separates top on sale. You might be able to get something that looks good with the pants!
