Crappy Wednesday Poll: Movies
I am procrastinating on writing a memo, and thought this would be much more fun!
1. What is the last movie you saw (in the theater or rental)?
2. Did you like it? Would you recommend it?
3. What's the best movie you've seen recently (theater or rental)?
Re: Crappy Wednesday Poll: Movies
1. Sadly, I think the last movie I saw in the theater is Horrible Bosses. I tried watching Cars on Netflix, but I apparently can't watch anything on my couch for more than 30 minutes without falling asleep.
2. I thought Horrible Bosses was funny (I love Jason Bateman!), but it could have been a rental. What I saw of Cars was cute!
3. I would recommend Horrible Bosses as a rental (which is probably the only way it's available at this point!).
1. What is the last movie you saw (in the theater or rental)?
The Lincoln Lawyer
2. Did you like it? Would you recommend it?
It was good. I would recommend it. Plus- it features Ryan Phillippe, Josh Lucas and Matthew Mcconaughey
3. What's the best movie you've seen recently (theater or rental)?
I liked the last Harry Potter movie.
1. What is the last movie you saw (in the theater or rental)?
ok, don't laugh, I rented Thor last week
2. Did you like it? Would you recommend it?
it was f*cking horrible, like laughably bad. and no, I would not recommend it. I really can't believe Natalie Portman was in it.
3. What's the best movie you've seen recently (theater or rental)?
we rented Win Win last month and LOVED it. if you liked Little Miss Sunshine or Sideways, you'll like this movie, it's quirky, funny and has some heart.
What is the last movie you saw (in the theater or rental)?
"Lost in Translation" and "Waiting for Superman" on Netflix, "Contagion" in the theater.
I thought Lost in Translation was supposed to be, like, artsy-good, but Otto and I were bored out of our minds. If that was the point, we got it in about 5 minutes. I do not recommend.
Waiting for Superman was fascinating, but depressing. I wished there was more at the end recommended on how we as individuals can work to make education better.
Contagion was cool but a little slow. We could've waited for Netflix.
What's the best movie you've seen recently (theater or rental)?
Bridesmaids!!!! Saw it opening weekend with girlfriends and it's now on our Netflix list so Otto can enjoy it, too. Hilarious.
1. What is the last movie you saw (in the theater or rental)? Netflix delievered Life as We Know It yesterday. I watched it last night.
2. Did you like it? Would you recommend it? It was pretty lame, although I did chuckle a few times.
3. What's the best movie you've seen recently (theater or rental)? The last HP. I seriously love them. Jackass 3D was freaking hysterical. if you like that kind of thing. I thought it was the best off all the Jackasses.
We make the rockin' world go 'round.
1. What is the last movie you saw (in the theater or rental)? "Conan O'Brien Can't Stop" via Netflix.
2. Did you like it? Would you recommend it? It was okay...it had some very funny moments, but I kind of felt like "Okay, time to move on now" while watching it. I like Conan a lot, but the veering into martyrdom is making me uncomfortable.
3. What's the best movie you've seen recently (theater or rental)? I also really liked "Win Win." "Cedar Rapids" was funny. And "The Ghost Writer" was a good, twisty thriller.
1. What is the last movie you saw (in the theater or rental)?
Bridesmaids...we got it at home when my mom was visiting becuase she had never seen it. 2. Did you like it? Would you recommend it? Hilarious...I laugh so hard when I see it 3. What's the best movie you've seen recently (theater or rental)? (recurring theme) Bridesmaids ha! Total coincedence, I think1. What is the last movie you saw (in the theater or rental)?
In theater: The Ides of MarchRental: Secretariat2. Did you like it? Would you recommend it? The Ides of March was interesting, sort of cliche, but it was good because H used to be in politics and the back stabbing was super realistic.Secretariat was fine. A little too Disneyfied for my liking.
3. What's the best movie you've seen recently (theater or rental)? Moneyball. Surprisingly awesome for a business book turned screenplay.
Stand up for something you believe in.
1. What is the last movie you saw (in the theater or rental)? We got the movie "Sunshine" on Netflix. I can't remember the last movie I saw in the theater. It might have been The Hangover (the first one). That makes me sad.
2. Did you like it? Would you recommend it? I love end-of-the-world movies, but this was bad. I need to do a better job of reviewing what DH puts in our queue.
3. What's the best movie you've seen recently (theater or rental)? We really liked Fair Game. We got it on Netflix a few weeks ago. We also got Casino Jack with Kevin Spacey. Also interesting.
VARedHead, I also love Jason Bateman. He's always been my celebrity crush. I can't wait for the Arrested Development movie.
1. tron (netflix streaming) and the last harry potter (theater).
2. tron was as horrible as i was expecting (my husband was the one that wanted to watch it) and the harry potter was so freaking awesome.
3. maybe xmen first class? it was delicious (i have a thing for the actor that plays prof x)
yes, girl! I adore him...and also really love the X-Men movies...DH thinks I'm nuts ;-)
I love the Xmen movies too, partcularly Wolverine. I watch it everytime it's on TV.
I1. What is the last movie you saw (in the theater or rental)? You Again
2. Did you like it? Would you recommend it? Hmmm...not really. I was bored.
3. What's the best movie you've seen recently (theater or rental)? Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2
Awesome movie! I've read all the books a billion times and seen all the movies, so I'm a Harry Potter fanatic. But it was such a great movie.

oh yes, hugh jackman (even with messed up side burns) is also delicious. i just watched xmen origins on the dvr.
i saw him in a boy from oz & he's more charming & fantastic in person!!
1. What is the last movie you saw (in the theater or rental)? In theater, Harry Potter. I can't even remember the last movie we rented. I enjoy movies, but I don't watch a lot.
2. Did you like it? Would you recommend it? Yes, I caught on to the HP bandwagon late, but quickly became obsessed. I loved it overall, though disliked a few parts.
3. What's the best movie you've seen recently (theater or rental)? Once again, HP. There haven't been that many movies out that have caught my interest enough to make an effort to see them.
Planning Bio
I think we are going to watch this tonight. I am excited...both James McAvoy (Prof X) and Michael Fassbender (Magneto) are hot.
1. What is the last movie you saw (in the theater or rental)? In theater, Harry Potter. For rental, I, Robot
2. Did you like it? Would you recommend it? Love me some HP. I, Robot was ok.
3. What's the best movie you've seen recently (theater or rental)? Best movies recently were HP, Coco before Chanel, and the Cranford Series
1. Last movie I saw: The Help
2. Did I like it/would I recommend it?: YES and YES
3. Best movie I've seen recently: just The Help
1: The Change Up (my friend and I rented for girls night)
2: It was TERRIBLE. SOO bad. We almost turned it off. There was excessive nudity that didn't help the story at all... it was not even sexy, just, unnecessary. And neither of us thought the ending was satisfactory.
3: It's been so long since I've seen a good movie I can't remember. We keep renting duds.
I own this!!!! (I assume you're talking about the bbc series based on the gaskell novels. if not, ignore the rest of this post)
have you seen north & south? also excellent, also gaskell. ditto for wives & daughters.
and, semi-relatedly, if you like british period dramas, i recommend lost in austen. it's fun.
Have you seen him in Jane Eyre? That's when we first fell in love ;-)
As far as Mr. Rochesters go (and, well, jane eyre adaptations), I prefer this guy (however both he & michael fassbender are far too attractive to be the character):
Interesting. I'm no JE expert...I trust your judgement on this one.
By the way, did you hear he was/is dating Zoe Kravitz, as in Lenny Kravitz and Lisa Bonet's daughter?!?!? I am sure she must be in her 20s now but I just think "baby" when I think of her.
did not know! but then again, i'm usuallly not up on celeb gossip. in fact, i didn't learn that toby stevens (above) is dame maggie smith's son until i was googling for photos.
Toby Stevens was in a couple of high-profile plays when I did my study abroad in college in London and me and my friends were obsessed with him. This was like 15 years ago...I always expected him to get really famous in the U.S. since he was so good looking and from such fine genes!
according to imdb which i was stalking last night, he's turned down hollywood films several times & prefers to stick to the theater. And, apparently, british period pieces b/c he's also been in an agatha christie marple, an agatha christie poirot, a tv movie about lady maragaret, tenant of wildfell hall, and--not british--the great gatsby.
