Can I AW the twins for a sec?

I know I've been a bit MIA on the board recently, I've been having some strange health issues and have been really stressed and freaked out by it, but I seem to be on the mend. Whew.

Anyway, we went out to dinner with the girls the other evening, and people sitting around us commented to us when they were leaving that they were in awe of how calm, well mannered and relaxed our girls were! It was so sweet and so nice to hear, as I'm always anxious that they will upset people when we go out. It was just really, really sweet.

They told us that they've never seen toddlers behave so well, let alone twins!

Nawwwwwwwwww.....

  • That's awesome and so nice of the people to give you a random compliment!

    Glad you're on the mend.

  • Glad you are getting better! And yay for your girls being good in public! That can be quite difficult with just one toddler, much less two!
  • Thanks!

It was so much nicer to hear than how cute they were or how much of a handful they must be, you know?

Especially since the last time we took them out for dinner it was a farking nightmare and we're never going back to that restaurant ever. EVER.

We met up with a friend of ours with 2 year old twin boys and a 3 year old girl - so, 4 adults and 5 kids at a table (my MIL was with us). Her three year old was pretty good, but her twins threw things, broke bowls, threw knives across the table, etc. I felt really badly for her because she seemed so overwhelmed and usually her kids are lovely. But if that wasn't bad enough, one of our twins had an epic pukarama all over the table, floor, me, her shoes, her dinner, the three year old. So while we're cleaning her up and she's screaming like a banshee, our other twin has bitten into a too-hot breadstick she stole from my plate and was wailing like a howler monkey. So while I was dealing with two screaming babies and a flood of puke, her twins were tossing breadknives at eachother and shattering bowls on the floor.

Did MIL help with this at all? Erm, no. Once Kaitie bit into the too hot bread stick I grabbed my plate away and thrust it at MIL for her to hold / place somewhere out of the reach of screaming / puking children while I dealt with the chaos - while I was cleaning up vomit from one screaming twin with one hand and holding / soothing the other twin with my other hand ( I only have 2! ) MIL is trying to give me back the plate because "she had nowhere to put it". Gaaaaaaaah!!!!! Put it on the floor, or beside your plate, I don't care. Just give me a freaking minute!

So anyway, after the pukarama cyclone dining out episode, it was really nice to get a nice compliment like that!
