*sigh*
I was close to finishing my niece's Halloween costume last night when my sewing machine jammed up. Again. Just like it did 2 months ago. When it required going to the sewing machine doctor for a 2-week visit.
I just can't be without my machine for 2 weeks! I haven't even *started* my own girls' costumes! I was all set to start working on them today (hello, all fabric bought!) since I was determined to finish my niece's last night and get it in the mail today, but just...UGH.
The sewing store opens in an hour. I'm going to call and give my best sob story, but they don't really seem like the kind of store open to sob stories, esp. since everyone has Christmas gifts and whatnot coming up here...
I just want my sewing machine to work! (and figure out why it's breaking and hope to avoid this ever again.)
And wanted to have like-minded people commiserate with me -- I know you'd all understand the tragedy unfolding here!
Re: I didn't write this last night b/c I was crying on my broken machine
Ugh, that's awful, I'm so sorry! No words of advice here, the one time my machine did that I cried then took the whole thing apart, making the problem much worse.
Stand up for something you believe in.
Ha maryandkirk! I did fiddle around with it a bit and was *this* close to taking it apart! It just seems like this one part needs to be pushed back in, but I can't figure out any way to push it in!
Last time the parts that needed to be repaired cost only $20, but then there was the $75 standard service price. I'm really hoping I can avoid that $75 fee...

My Dh is a professional geek too, and I would NEVER let him take my machine apart!!! Brian voids warranties!
Hope your machine feels better soon.
