Teach me to walk in heels?

Oh, I wish I was kidding.

I bought these (Thanks, LB!) The shoes are fairly comfortable for someone that doesn't wear heels every day. I feel like I walked so sloooow in them. Maybe it is my imagination? Any tips to improve my walking capabilities?

Re: Teach me to walk in heels?

  • I'd watch a bunch of youtube videos and then just wear them around the house or running errands a LOT.

  • You just have to wear them, a lot, to get used to them. Ive been wearing them steadily for 10 months and sometimes I'm still wobbly.

  • Those are cute! I'm no help in the walking area. I have a pair of heels from 6pm.com that I have to send back b/c they're too high and I can't even stand properly in them. I think they have a 3 1/2 in heel.

  • Lead with your heel if that makes sense. Otherwise you'll look like you're clomping around like a horse. Lol Also, ditto the wearing them around the house.

  • So I wore them for the hour I was at home this morning. I feel fine in them with no hose. I wore view yesterday and kept feeling like I would bust my ass. I hate hose, but know it is part of their dress code, if feet are visible when sitting.

What?! What kind of company still has pantyhose in their dress code?

My company does but luckily it's not enforced in my location.

My current employer and they heavily enforce it.

  • Mine has a hose policy, too. I think it's still extremely common for big corporations.

As for the heels.. ditto the others. I will say for me, that I got a smaller heel (3") and wore those until I was really comfortable in them before I went to 3 1/2 or 4". For me the difference between 3" and 3.5" at the beginning was night and day.

  • A pantyhose policy offends me way more than taking off my engagement ring in a job interview. lol
  • My company had a pantyhose policy until about 3 years ago. It was still in the handbook when I got hired. I seriously considered not taking the job because of this. Luckily I found out it was no longer enforced.
