first look, the doc is thinking that it's infected because he was chewing on it,
which is why the mass grew so fast. they think it's just puss inside. they still
need a "couple hours" to determine if it needs to be removed or not. the vet
says they are booked until monday for surgeries (which totally pisses me off
because i told them if it needs to be removed, i wanted it done today). we told
them if they couldn't do it today, we'd take him home and take him to another
vet to get it removed today.
still waiting
to see if he *needs* surgery.
they
will give him antibiotics to to kill the infection (it's definitely infected)
and it might go down but
they haven't determined it to be puss or cancer yet
Keep sending your vibes to Herc! He needs some lovin' right now!

It looks like there is definitely a lot to be hopeful for. I'm glad that it's just puss! Poor Hercules! I'm sure he's struggling being at the vet all day.

TTC #2 for a million years: SA normal, CD 23 bloodwork shows nothing amiss, ovulation detected. Next step: ? maybe CD3 bloodwork to check eggs? All out of pocket, so limited IF tests/treatments.
thanks you guys, it really is touching to read all the nice comments for my babydog. no update yet..still waiting to hear if it's puss or cancer =P

It sounds super wrong, but I'm hoping it's puss too. XD
Thoughts and prayers.
*****HERCULES UPDATE*****
so we *finally* picked up hercules a little bit ago... the vet is definitely worried about his tumor because of how quickly it's been growing, but there's not a lot she can do until the cyopsy (?) comes back. once the results come back we'll know what kind of tumor it is.
the bad news is that it is *not* puss filled and is a mass that is likely cancerous. once they find out for sure what kind it is, they can decide what's next.. if it's not dangerous, we'll either just cut it off, or leave it. if it's dangerous, then they will xray his chest to see if it's spread. if it has spread, then we'll need to start saying our goodbyes. if it hasn't, they will cut it off, and we'll go from there. i'm pretty sure we will not pursue chemo, radiation, etc, because of his age....
the good news is that his blood work, everything came back normal and healthy, which means that the mass is not affecting any major organs. his heart and lungs are functioning perfectly.
so......results come back tomorrow night or friday..so let's just keep the good thoughts for a few more days. thanks you guys for letting me have a place to vent about this.
