Pinecones at Michael's/Joann?

Can you buy bags of pinecones at Michael's or Joann? I need some for a last minute thing and can't find the ones I thought we had. I've seen bags of scented pinecones at grocery stores lately, but I want unscented.

  • I know for sure Joann has them.  At the store by me they are usually in a bin right in the entry way this time of year.

  • Oh, good. Thanks! I didn't want to drive up there without a good lead.

  • LOL'ed so hard, At this post. But I'm from the northwest. Yesterday I burnt a giant pile of them from my yard. Three wheel barrows full to be exact! :P

I'm in the South--pine trees are EVERYWHERE so pinecones are of no shortage.

We have a HUGE oak tree as well as a magnolia tree in our yard as well, so between the pinecones, acrons and seed pods there are lots of things to dodge when mowing the lawn (which luckily it should only need one more time this season).

  • I wish we had more! We have one tree in the neighborhood that produces pinecones, but there weren't any nice ones when I walked over. Plenty of lovely fall leaves on the ground, though (well, after today they're wet leaves, but still pretty).

I would love to have a magnolia tree! I love the way they smell. This weekend will be the last mowing of the season here. Its going to freeze any day now. I had to drag in 15+ pounds  of green tomatoes on the vine yesterday. I'm hoping they will ripen up decently in the garage hanging.
