If I were to show up to a party dressed as Jem, how many of you would know who I was?

Depends on how good the costume is.

a colleague and I did Jem and Jerrica 2 years ago--we had to show the kids the youtube video.

I probably wouldn't.

I know Jem (and the holograms), but I think I was too young to watch it much growing up.

I would only know because my aunt (who is only 35, for reference) and I always have this scenario going on:

I start singing the Captain Planet song
She starts singing the Jem song

And we both look at each other like, WTH are you talking about?

I've had Jem explained to me.

I feel the need to add I tried to change my name to Jem in preschool.

My mom still has the picture of the class quilt we made. Everyone wrote their first and last names all nicely, and I just wrote "JEM". The teacher went back and wrote "Diane" with quotion marks around the Jem, and then my last name.

Kinda funny now, but she was probably mortified at the time.
