We're almost there (thursday post)

Hey all!

It is SOOOOO windy and cold out today.  DISLIKE!!  Anyone watch the new Christina Applegate show "up all night".  Well, last night was a flashback to when she gave birth, and part of that was in my dream last night.  Very weird.

Other than that, not much to report on.  Hoping today goes by super fast!

Re: We're almost there (thursday post)

  • Hi yo. How's it going? I am on a 1.5 hour conference call. Really? I had to come in early for this.

Last night I went to Target. I got a ton of stuff and also forgot a few things so I have to go back. But I have to return something too so that's ok.

After unloading Target, I just changed, fed the dogs and myself, packed lunch, and watched TV: Gossip Girl, Hart of Dixie, and Up All Night. I was sleeping by 11.

Not much doing today. Forgot to thaw salmon for dinner. Balls.   New blog on le common cold: http://weinerwhistle.blogspot.com/2011/10/suck-it-colds.html

  • Aside from condiments, my refrigerator is officially empty.  I did not even have coffee creamer (or MILK!) for coffee this morning.  Balls.

Baby Q goes for his six-month check up this afternoon.  Boo for shots.

K sold the POS SUV last night.  Happy day.

Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker For two people in a marriage to live together day after day is unquestionably the one miracle the Vatican has overlooked. PersonalMilestone
  • Stef, I feel for you.  I'm still sick.  Sinus and cold stuff blows.

Suzie - That was our fridge last week.  I finally had to force myself to shop on Sunday b/c all we had was beer, V8, string cheese and condiments.  I'm a poor excuse for a wife...

I finally went to yoga last night for the first time in weeks.  It was really hard since my ears are all effed up and I'm all off balance, but it made me feel somewhat better.  I came home, had cereal for dinner and laid in bed watching TV and feeling sorry for myself.  This ear thing is turning me into a big whiny baby.  I'm a little surprised K keeps putting up with it.

  • I've got an interview this afternoon. And one tomorrow morning.  If anyone asks, I'm getting coffee with a friend this afternoon, but I don't know what to say about tomorrow.  I'm really hoping my boss is off-site, but does anyone have any ideas? I can't really take off because I have a dentist appt next Friday and want to just take the whole day. And I left early Monday for a doctor's appt, so that's been used. I'm probably worrying WAY too much about this.

DH has a work event tonight, so I'm on my own.  And since I didn't like any of my dress shoes this morning, I'm going to Marshalls and/or Payless to hopefully find a decent pair.  Maybe a purse too.  We'll see how I feel.

My deal is that I am going to murder your puppies and piss on your rainbows. -diablesse Lilypie Premature Baby tickers
  • Rachel, ear issues are awful. I'd be a baby too. I hope it clears up soon.

In a tiny rage b/c MFD's costume that I ordered is now magically unavailable. Whatever. I ordered him a velvet green bowler's hat with a shamrock on it. Hoping my dad still has his green blazer from Ugly Christmas party. Then I just need to get green sweatpants and cut them at his knees, a green bow tie and a corn cob pipe. And a box of Lucky Charms as a prop. hahahah Oh and I am making shoe buckles out of a gift bag and taping them to his shoes.

I usually just give a very vague, "Some personal issues have come up that I need to deal with this morning.  Is it okay if I come in a bit late?"  If they ask, you can just say you're not comfortable discussing details.

I either do that or just call in sick.  But for my industry, full-day interviews are the norm, so I'm never going back to work afterward.

GOOD LUCK on both interviews!  I hope you rock 'em both!

  • Steph, I can't wait to see your costumes!  Sounds awesome!  MFD sounds like so much fun, and goes along with anything.  K is such a party pooper.  No way I'd get him to go to WDW with me or dress up for Halloween.  He's like the Grinch reincarnate.

I hope you can put this together, I would love to see a pic of MFD as the leprechaun from Lucky Charms!

Since I was home yesterday, the neighborhood kid who has mowed our lawn before, came by yesterday to mow and scoop dog poop. Score. made some salmon thing from Trader Joe's along with Quinoa and some veggies. I ended up taking Allie the dog on a 2 mile walk and vegged out the rest of the time. Dh and I ended up watching this documentary on Avenal State Prison (one of the toughest state prisons out here) but I couldn't hang so I fell asleep close to 9:30. Plan for today is to run a quick errand after work and then DH and I will go out to eat. I don't feel like cooking & I need to come up with more ideas for the next few days.

  • Holla for almost making it to the weekend!

Supposed to have our last baby class last night (breast feeding), but I was too tired and my back hurt, so I only went long enough to get materials.  I'm considering just  getting a library book on the subject.

Steph - I love the costume idea!  Too cute.

  • Well hello Thursday, can't wait until you are over and it's Friday.

Nothing too exciting to add here.  Was supposed to go to the gym, but after a stressful day at work I decided to go out for a beer instead.  Had a slice of red velvet cake from Safeway and it was disgusting!  Right when I took the top off the container I smelled the butter, I knew it was not going to be a good cake.  Now I am in the mood to make my red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting.  Yeah, I'll show Safeway how it's done!

  • Moleson- I dread ever having to give childbirth.  I'm such a baby when it comes to pain, and cringe when I think of how painful childbirth is (from what I've heard).

Steph- I too want to see the costume sounds awesome.

  • So when do I stop being exhausted?

My baking midterm was very easy and we ended up not having to clean the baking lab! Wooo! When I got home, H suggested we go to Applebees for half price apps (I was just gonna get a dessert shooter), but we got there and they had karaoke and we left. Who thought it was a good idea to have karaoke at Applebees?

I cannot wait for this day to be over. I'm going to go home, take a nap, watch greys and sleep and that's it.

(An unmatched left parenthesis creates an unresolved tension that will stay with you all day.

  • Slacker here, finally reporting in today.

I have absolutely nothing interesting to share today. I have a skating meeting tonight with the other coaches, our students, and their parents. I am totally dreading it because I have a feeling their will be drama.

To kick start my day I tried a new recipe. I am in love.

They do this at the Applebee's near us, too and it pisses me off.  I can understand a karaoke bar, but when I'm eating, I don't need to hear you belting out Katie Perry, sounding like something on my plate dying.

Omg. I think I love you and hate you at the same time! I did NOT need a single serve recipe of coffee cake, but I may just have to make this tonight! DH won't be home to judge me.
