Recommend your lawn mower

Can anyone recommend a good lawn mowing device for me?  If all goes to plan, we will be moving in the next month or so.  We will have to maintain a lawn for the first time in our lives at the new house.  Right now, we have association fees that cover lawn care and snow removal.  Does anyone have a lawn mower etc. that they love?

While we are at it.  I guess we also need snow shovels? snow blower?  what?  I am not ready for this!  :)

Re: Recommend your lawn mower

  • Toro is our fav. We've had ours for 5ish+ years, starts every time. All our neighbors have one also. Same with the snow blower. My snow blower is actually gas but has an electric start which is awesome in the winter. Push the button, starts right up, unplug and away you go. All of ours have been bought at home depot. We also have a toro weed eater, The nice thing about having the same brand is the weed eater and snow blower take the same gas mixture (not straight gas) so you don't ahve all different mixes in the garage trying to remember what is what.
  • My husband has a John Deere rider, a Honda self-propelled push mower and a huge Toro snowblower. Check Craigslist for this stuff, you may find some good deals :)
