Happy Friday ladies! Excited for the weekend? What are your plans today? What are your weekend plans?
QOTD: What is a typical breakfast in your host country?
I'm excited to sleep a bit more this weekend, but I still have lots of homework to do
. DH and I are going to a wine cave this morning near the Alps and then to lunch at a "chestnut festival" for his mom's birthday.
Tomorrow some friends and I are having a girl's night of carving pumpkin and wine, I'm very excited for some girl time.
QOTD: typical Swiss breakfast...muesli, muesli in yogurt, bread and jam, "tartine". I think breakfast in the German side might be different though.
I really miss American style breakfast, especially pancakes and hashbrowns. Hashbrowns or "rosti" are dinner food here.
Re: Good morning!
Good morning!
I'm having a rough start to the day, we have no water. I went to ask our maintenance guy about it and he offered me a case of bottled water. "But I want to take a shower." He said "Maybe later, three, maybe four hours." Sweet. I was going to ride my bike, but I don't want to get all sweaty and even more gross if I can't shower.
Tonight we are headed to Oman and plan to head up into the mountains there for the weekend. It was a last minute decision, I just bought plane tickets two hours ago. Not sure what the weekend will have in store!
QOTD: In South India, Idly are a typical breakfast. My best description of them is fermented rice and lentil patties that are pressure cooked.
My typical breakfast here is oatmeal, but I desparately miss breakfast burritos from home. I had an awesome one in Singapore last weekend. Mmmm.

Morning! Today LO and I are going to get our weekly grocery shop with my Mum. This evening DH's company have the opening of their new metal works hall.
This weekend DH drives to the middle of nowhere Germany to get his new car and I have to confirm the date for E's baptism with the priest at mass...it's all in lux! oh and we have dinner with the sponsors of the rally team. I guess we're rather full!!
QOTD:pastries and coffee.
I got rained on today. That's about it.
Qotd: typical breakfast here in Singapore is a soft boiled egg, toast with kaya (a coconut jam), and coffee (or as its called here, "kopi").
We're moving to Chicago in about two weeks. I'll be packing up boxes for most of the weekend. I'm more nervous about our move to Chicago then I was about moving to Zurich. We are looking at apartments on Monday and Tuesday. I really hope we can find a nice affordable place in a okay neighborhood. I'm a little nervous to start living in the "big" city life. I'm such a small town girl.
Saturday I'm driving to Milwaukee to meet with some old college friends for shopping and dinner.
QOTD: In Zurich it was a lot Rosti (hash browns), soft boiled eggs, rye bread, croissants, smoked salmon slices, other sliced meats, and muesli. Jam and nutella on toast too.
I never really ate much of that I usually cooked myself pancakes or french toast for brunch when I wanted. Otherwise I would just have yogurt or cereal.

Morning. Brit, have fun!
Today has not been great and it's not even 8am. The cat pooped in our bed. Judging by what she left behind, internet experts tell us she might have infected anal glands. I'm going to the vet tomorrow morning to see what they say.
QOTD: Traditional English breakfast is fried eggs, beans, toast, sauteed mushrooms, roasted tomato and bacon (not crispy).
Morning! :-)
Not much going on here. Just relaxing at home in my PJ's :-) My plans this weekend are to be lazy :-P Aside from a haircut tomorrow, and maybe meeting a friend for coffee, I just want to relax!
QOTD: Traditional Arabic breakfast is usually made up of falafel, foul medammes, eggs with tomatoes and onions, and pita bread. It's pretty good, we've had it a few times!
I still like my American breakfasts though - eggs benedict, french toast, waffles, biscuits, bagels, english muffins, pancakes, etc :-) I'm a breakfast kind of girl. I can eat it any time of day!

My Doha Adventures
Morning. Not much going on. Need to get a baby gift finished so I can stick it in the mail. We?ll see how much miss F.C. lets me do...she?s into everything. And I mean everything. If she?s not drinking out of the dog bowl with a spoon, she?s unpotting my plants and dumping the dirt on the stairs.
QOTD; Rolls with cheese or jam or cold cuts. And coffee. Plus an egg.
I really miss biscuits. Sigh.
Happy Friday! It's been a pretty busy but good week, but I started getting stressed about some work stuff last night and couldn't sleep. We also had a swimming lesson yesterday which highlighted how horrible my technique has gotten in the 20 years since I last took lessons! Yikes. But I'm looking forward to getting better and swimming more.
Not too much on for the weekend. Brunch tomorrow with a friend and then dinner at a new local sushi place. Probably go to the gym, and maybe go to the driving range.
QOTD: I would agree with rpic, except I would also add sausage. I have to admit I do like the English breakfast, just can't have it too often.
Cecilia arrived 12 October 2012
I need to be domesticated this weekend: clean the house, sort out summer/winter clothes, etc.
QOTD: croissants/pains au chocolat or tartines/toasts/rolls with either savoury stuff (cheeses/cold cuts) or jams.
I'm not a fan of most fo what ends up on the plate. I like the eggs and toast, and that's it!
I've never had swimming lessons despite growing up going to the beach or pool multiple times a day. I can swim, but I know I'd have no technique.
Good morning! TGIF!
no super exciting weekend plans, but we've been really busy the past few weekends so we're looking forward to just hanging out with each other.
QOTD: Swedes love their breakfast. I would say a typical breakfast is filmj?lk, which is a fermented milk type of thing, kinda similar to buttermilk I think, with bran flakes. I think it tastes disgusting, lol. The first time I tried it, DH (then BF) told me to try it, it's kind of like yogurt. yeah, no. They also eat a lot of oatmeal, and bread with various toppings. I eat the same breakfast 99.9% of the time - special K with skim milk and sliced banana. I loooove cereal.
Happy Friday!
Nothing much going on today, DH has to work late, but I will get off at 3:30pm - head to the gym for cardio and shower. Maybe do some grocery shopping and then home to relax
I was thinking about trying to make French Onion soup tonight.
Tomorrow some friends are running in a half marathon, so we will get up early to cheer them on. Then, check out a beer and cheese festival.
Sunday we might head to a zoo we bought season passes for but only went once. We have to get our money's worth and only have two more weekends to do it! Then they are closed for the season!
QOTD: I live in the French part of Belgium so breakfast is croissants, a soft boiled egg, and coffee. Most of the breakfast buffets also have sliced of lunch meats (ham, turkey, salami) and sliced cheeses for breakfast too.
For us - breakfast is usually oatmeal, cereal, or scrambled eggs with ham and cheese on the weekends. We love pancakes and all American breakfast food really, but that is not something we typically make at home unless we have visitors. Recently I found some bacon at the grocery store here that was like what they have for English breakfast - I made it at home and it was fantastic!
IN's October Siggy Challenge: Halloween Costumes
Hello!
Happy Birthday Myblueangel!
Just got home from running and coffee. Going to a crepe and nutella play date after M finishes school and then a surprise birthday party for a friend tonight.
QOTD: Croissant, pain au chocolat, baguette with jams. I miss my pho breakfasts in Vietnam.
Well to add to all the sickness in the house, both DH and DS woke up with pink eye. I am really getting tired of illness, but I am very greatful none of it is serious illness.
This weekend, DH said he would help me by watching DS while I either sleep in or do out. I would like to do both, but I know he is tired so we will see if this actually happens. Sunday: Meeting up with the NCT playgroup that DS was with before we went to Korea, haven't seen anyone in a year, so it will be good to catch up and see the children so much bigger.
QOTD: has already been answered. but we like porriage. I don't even want to try Weetabix. Thats pretty common here too.
Good morning! Just hopped off my Spin bike and getting ready for work. Tonight I don't have any plans but tomorrow I have a second date with the DILF
The rest of the weekend I'm working on making strides on the 15 trashbags of clothes I haven't unpacked from XH's house.
QOTD: In America, anything goes...but I'm a huge fan of NJ diner breakfasts. Also anything goes but I prefer an egg white veg omelette w toast and bacon.
Thanks Azure! I'm done working for the day and will spend the afternoon preparing for the part tonight! woot!
QOTD: A cigarette and an expresso? lol more like a croissant and a coffee
