Hot Power Yoga

Everybody should do it.  (I am talking real yoga here ladies!)  It was so fun.  They set the temperature up to 93 degrees(F) while you are doing yoga.  It is gradual, so your body can get used to it.  You sweat more, but it helps burn more calories and is suppose to be better for your joints.  I am really looking forward to doing this in the winter when it gets cold.

Re: Hot Power Yoga

  • I enjoy it too as long as it's vinyasa.  I'm not a huge fan of bikram although I do it time to time.  I still like regular vinyasa best though - typically closer to 80 degrees.

  • They only do vinyasa at my studio.  I am fairly new to yoga world but I am loving it so far.

  • I've done both Bikram and Power Yoga.  I definitely think Power Yoga (vinyasa) is more a true yoga and a real workout (in terms of getting some cardio too), but Bikram has some amazing benefits... either way, I much prefer either of those compared to anything else or classes at the gym...

  • I confess I didn't think this was going to be about real yoga, and that's probably why I opened the thread Embarrassed. I've never tried it (regular yoga or hot yoga), I don't know that any place in my area offers it, and hot yoga does not sound pleasant, but I'd give it a shot at least.

Love it!  Hot power 'yoga' is pretty great too.  I found this to be helpful in centering me and relaxing me, especially with my stressful job.
