Re: Favorite crock pot meal....

  • I use mine a bit. I like to make nooners 40 clove chicken in it. Chicken and dumplings, pulled pork, buffalo chicken, I can't think of everything right now. I don't have any recipes on me but look at crockpotgirls.com.
Baby, you've got the sort of eyes that tell me tales...

I have a recipe for chicken and dumplings in a crock pot. Easiest thing ever. I can write it out if you're interested!

  • Beef Dip Sandwiches.  I actually have a newer version that I've found with onions in it too, but I havne't blogged it yet.  But this one is still really good.

Oooh, I would be interested in that recipe, too.  I have been wanting to try chicken and dumplings, but have been intimidated by it for some reason.

I'm planning on trying Nooner's beef dip sandwiches this fall, and I can speak highly of another PLFF crock pot recipe:  http://peaceloveandfrenchfries.com/2010/08/30/crock-pot-goodness/  Honestly, one of my faves.

That would be great if you don't mind.

    Crock Pot Chicken and Dumplings

    4 skinless/boneless chicken breasts, quartered.

    2 tablespoons butter

2 (10oz) cans cream of chicken soup

    1 onion, chopped

1-2 pks Pillsbury biscuit dough, torn into pieces (about the size of a quarter)

Place all ingredients (except dough) into crock pot. Add just enough water to cover. Cook on high 5-6 hours. Add torn dough the last 30-45 min (you can also remove and shred the chicken at this time if you want, then add back in).

I like to serve it with egg noodles, but it's yummy on its own too:)
