Anyone near Lejeune

DH just got his orders for Lejeune.  I'm starting to look into areas for housing (we are living off-base) and I didn't know if anyone had any advice on good areas and areas to avoid.  If it helps any, I really would hate for DH to have longer than a 30 minute commute and we are looking for an area that is "family friendly."

    We lived in Timberlake Trail when we were there.. They are townhouses really close to the main gate. There is a park and softball field near there too...and lots of regular houses in that area too. We really liked it, and it was close to the mall.

    I don't know anything about the area but since you're pregnant you should try to be seen by Dr. Eakin.  She's a friend of ours and an OB/Gyn for the base.  GL!

    Thanks!  My next step (after trying to figure out where I'm going to live) is to find an OB. I appreciate the recommendation!!

    We had an apartment just off of Western within walking distance to the mall. I really liked that area. 

    H was stationed at New River and it was about 15 minutes from there, but only 2 miles from Lejeune.  

    Is that in Jacksonville?
