I saw on H&F that your Turkey Trot 8K is in Mississippi. Is it the one in Ridgeland, sponsored by Fleet Feet that finishes on the Natchez Trace running trail? If so, we are doing the same one! DH is from Jackson, and we are going there for Thanksgiving.

OMG!!!!!!!! yes it is! I'm from Jackson too! My parents live in Byram/Terry now and my brother is in Clinton and my sister in Ridgeland.
So we're dragging my dad out to watch all the grandkids (there will be seven there!) while me and Josh and my brother and sister do the race and my step mom stays home and cooks in peace and quiet!
How much fun is it going to be to see you there!

Cool! I'll be there by myself. In-laws live on the North side of Jackson. They probably will go to church, so DH will be with DS or at church with them. Now, I'll know someone there!
We were there when it snowed last year too! I hope we have super chilly weather this year, it would be a nice break!
I'm trying to talk DH now into a quick trip back the first week of Jan so I can do the MS Blues half marathon Jan 7th.
So did your DH grow up in Jackson?
What's your race pace going to be? I think DH is planning on really racing this, so he'll leave me way behind, lol.
