s/o baby names

so Katniss is on the homepage of Nameberry as one of the most popular names currently. I find this quite amusing! Slightly different than naming your child Harry or Ron...

And can someone please remind me the website that will give you suggestions based on names you like? I told DH I'd get it for him TIA!

Re: s/o baby names

  • There is no way I would name my daughter Katniss, yes she's a kick ass character but that idea is right up there with naming my next son Darth Vadar.

I agree, even though it's the same, it's different than naming your kid Harry, Ron, Edward, Jacob, Isabella, etc.

  • Not gonna lie, there was a brief moment in which I considered Katniss as a name for my future child. Then I realized I was being silly.

  • I love me some Katniss but I waned to punch her in the face too many times during Mockingjay to name a kid after her.
  • lol, Cinna was up top as a 'popular name search' = seriously?! I mean I think the names are cool and everything, but still a little too out there...

  • I'm finally in the cool kids club now that I've read Hunger Games... I'm buying Catching Fire tonight (woo).  Katniss is kind of a badass name but I can't imagine people really using it.

  • Oh geez... Imagine the influence once the movies are released.  Twilight's Isabella & Jacob, anyone?

  • Wow! I just finished up Mockingjay and loved the entire series but Katniss is definitely not a name I would consider!

Yes, agree!  Every time I said or read the name I'd also think about the horrible society of Hunger Games.

  • I used to want twins named Madeline and Matthew.  I still like both names.

My 'bad' name years were when I was much younger - "Samantha" was always my name of choice as a kid.  It's not bad, it's just very 1980s Alyssa Milanno, to me.
