**sarack** and other baby info for those interested :)

I figured I would respond in a new post, so my response doesn't get lost :)

H was there. Poor guy felt soo bad for me. I knew he would, though. He said he felt very helpless and was always looking out for me during the process.

He didn't want to see the baby's birth (which is fine because I didn't want him to). I didn't want to see it either. I remember doctor asking him twice if he wanted to. He also didn't want to cut the cord, I was suprised, but also okay with it. I asked him about the process later and he said one time he did take a glance in that direction and saw a ton of blood and almost fanted. He also commented on feeling helpless and has a new respect for me for going through it.

He's been a rock star so far, making sure both the baby and I are taken care of. He feels helpless that he can't feed her, but happy to take car of the other stuff. I have only had to change one diaper myself so far. H is also becoming an expert on swaddling and burping. He is the best dad. I am so impressed. I was worried at first, but him seeing my confidence fueled his confidence and he's doing better than me at a lot of things now.

I love my little girl so much. H does too. I can't get enough of her. It is hard to remind myself to take some time to rest so I can recover too.

  • wow, one diaper? awesome. glad he was able to make it there in time...so did he leave the car in the waiting area or something? since you said he didn't have time to park the car.

did you get that shot of vodka after delivery? Wink

  • aw this is so sweet!  love it.

Also, I like that you say "the baby" lol, such a huge pet peeve even though I know it's common language to just say baby :P

Yeah, he didn't have time to move the car. It was just in the waiting area. It was really less than two hours from when we got there to delivery and it was late, so the car was fine. He moved it when the grandparents showed up about 11pm.

I haven't had it yet. Truely my body doesn't feel like it is able to handle it. I feel pretty weak and I am not used to being this hungry all the time, just from transitioning over from not being able to eat much plus during the pregnancy and the extra calories needed for nursing. It is still in the back of my head though.

  • aw, thank you so much for responding!

i've heard many men and women say that they don't want their SO to see the birth so that isn't strange to me at all. I think it's so beautiful though. :)

I'm so proud of you, I just have to say. Obv I have NO idea what childbirth is like but that is pretty incredible. My cousin just had a baby and had no medicine either and i just can't believe it. I'm gonna try to do it. :)

It sounds like things are going amazingly! i'm so happy to hear it! Sending good vibes your way!

  • You seriously have my respect for getting through that without meds.  It amazes me the stories I hear about how much guys change when the first baby arrives - glad to hear you're all doing well!
